If you have time, it's a pretty neat watch.

ya it's like what George Orwell was thinking the future would be like only that it is the cooperations that see and control everything not the government.

Wow kinda creepy in a way. But like he said, I can see it leaning towards that degree of life as just one big game.

I've heard that people will change the future of gaming so many times that I've lost count...speaking of which any news on Onlive?

i hope i live to see it turn it to this so i can look back and be like holy crap he was right!

Onlive hasn't been doing too good. Way too much hype. It has all sorts of problems and isn't delivering at all. Flop imo.

Awesome video man that dude is really smart well worth the 30 mins to watch this video nice find!

i remember when people would post for 10 CC per post... ppd counts were much higher.

Interesting theory (obviously exaggerated for explaining). Looking from the outside in I don't like it, but would those systems work on me? Absolutely. I wish he had more time to go into freewill and how it would be affected.

The biggest draw back for his theory coming true is privacy, to what extent are people willing to give up privacy for a rewards system.

This was a really good watch, and for me, saddening. I really want to sit down to him and/or whoever helped him come up with the ideas for the speech. New and relatable psychology is very interesting.

I feel like going fishing and enjoying some mountain air now. (+500 relax points)

When the achievements for games started to become popular, I often wondered what else will take this idea and run with it, outside of games. It's a frightening and thought-provoking theory on how technology and incentives may motivate us to live a better life.

I guess this question should be pondered over; What side will you be on when this theory becomes fact? There will be a lot of money to be made off of something like this. Yea sure, you can run and hide in the forest and be a hermit. But you'll get all those nifty points for doing just that.

I'm going to have to pass this video to my Future Technologies professor.

Great video, many thanks for sharing.

but who said these incentives would be set up to make people strive to live better lives and who defines what a better life for that person is, the incentives will be there to herd people to do what every a certain company wants them to do not live a better life.
