Okay. I think I know part of the reason for the sudden loss in numbers in zombie mod.

Remember the period when all the servers were crashing? Just before that zombie was on a great high , it even had more players than jail. The thing is most of these players were pubs. They didn't like the server crashes and ditched. As a result numbers dwindled and now anyone hardly goes on. I know any zombie mod fan will have the ego zombie server on their favourites so if we can just get numbers back up, I believe this will make all the difference

So please. If u wana hang and chill with ur ego mates and not lose any points come to the zombie server and play :) or if your Just on a rage, zombie is a great way to make u smile again :]

Hmmm, I'm not totally sure if that's the cause. Dust2 is constantly lagging for everyone. But I see your point, zombie needs to start moving back up
 
The server IP changed. This is expected when the IP for Zombie mod changes. It will take time to rebuild the following.
 
In my honest opinion, Zombie Mod is getting a little old, It's fun, but I guess when you've played it for so long you just say "Ehhh" And move on to the 'new' thing. But it's still fun I go there every once in a while (:

I think the zombie server was more fun when it had Zombie escape maps in the rotation. Thats just my opinion.
 
Simply put, Zombie Escape maps made the server boom, and they really should put it back, the server is just dieing without them. I see why they removed ti the first place, but maybe they should have a trial period of bringing back the Zombie Escape maps. Do what happens in the Jail server, have it so once a map is played X amount of maps have to be played to play that one again.

Thats just my opinion though.

Main reason, using the extremely cheap spots on maps with < 20 players will empty a server out. Pubs dont want to even try and others see it as not fun if theyre a zombie. So just barricade or use easy to get to spots to show pubs that this server can be fun.

Second, I am planing on uploading 10 new maps and removing 10 old maps within the next two weeks or so if FPSBanana will ever load correctly. I will be pre-screening these to make sure they are acceptable for eGO Servers and editing out any spots that can be considered unfair to the zombies such as vents, areas that require jumping (more than 3 jumps), and such spots.

Third, problem with zombie escape maps: Grieving. If our members do it during ZE Tuesdays, its 100x worse with pubs. This is one reason they are not on the server any more. Second reason is they were over played.

Lastly, I will be seeing if I can get Mostly to edit the RTV plugin to force it to not allow a map to be nominated that was just played or up to 2 maps previous. This is not guaranteed.

So you will be seeing some updates to Zombie Mod in the near future. Until then, help show Pubs we can play fair and it doesnt matter if you get zombified, its just about having fun. This means dont use the practically impossible to get to spots because one guy with a deagle can shoot you off or kill you before even getting within 50 feet of him. Use teamwork and make some super awesome barricades. Show the pubs its about having fun and teamwork, not about your score.
 
I stopped playing once we got rid of the escape maps. I think a lot of others did too.

I would like to reiterate Rogue's first point. If you are a z-mod regular, make it fun for the pubs and e's. We all know the difficult spots for zombies to get you since we play them alot but instead choose cading and spots where zombies have a fighting chance to get you. They love it when they can work together to get that last guy caded up in a room. They hoop and holler and can't wait to do it again. Change it up where you hide or cade, going to a vent every time gets boring for the zombies.

I have to agree with Lithium, I stopped coming after the ZE maps were removed. However from experience zombie mod servers only do well if they cater to either ZE or ZM, never both.

There are many maps which are relatively grief proof such as the ze_sewer_escape map played last Tuesday. I will continue to come out to ZE Event on Tuesday. Thanks for hosting rogue.
