For those of you who don't know what this is, let me explain briefly...

A lot of people are tired of the current points system and the current ranks system is, honestly, relatively meaningless--there's nothing special about becoming a "General" or anything else...it just takes getting on whatever amount of time and racking up the kills. SO, I worked on a new ranking system...

The upper ranks are pulled straight off of the "Leadership Roster" link to the left. After that, I assigned a set amount of each rank following those. There was a method to my madness there (if you look you will see the patterns), but pretty much the lower you went the more open spots there are. To assign people to a rank, I took their points and added 10pts for every hour they have played. This way rank is a combination of skill and seniority. eGO's and eG's are "officers" (but eG's cannot be any form of General) and e's are "enlisted" as you will see.

For those of you who saw the other one I did, here's what's different...

I did my best to include everybody. I poured through the hl stats pages and all of the other "clans" identified in there, searching for any eGO people, so as not to have the massive overlooks I admittedly had last time. I found 47 new people across 14 "clans" this way. ALSO, I did not cut out anybody in the e, eG, or eGO lists just because they didn't have "notable-enough" kills or playing time. Everybody is in there now. Because of this, the list has over doubled in size...

This is all based off of when I collected the numbers from the hl stats page, in the half hour following 9pm PST Sunday, aka precisely at the end of the month, server time. Also, as a result, the new Leadership changes, while major, are thus not reflected.

That's about it. The Word document I am copying this list off of has every single last player hyperlinked to their hl stats page, which I really wanted to have for everybody's quick access/viewing, but that formatting did not convert and, sadly, due to the file size limitations, I was not willing to break it down into dozens and dozens of files to upload and put on here. Sorry.

WHAT?!

Tell me EXACTLY what your name is right now...

I bet it's gonna end up being that you have something bracketed or in parenthesis at the end that pretty much nobody else has, so you don't show up under any "sub-clan" in the system. In that case, it's your own stinking fault for having it like that, cause I am sure not gonna take the time to look through every last one of the thousands upon thousands of players to make sure all are accounted for. I already put out likely more effort than everybody who will post in this thread combined in making sure I got as many eGO members as possible. :P

Im just wondering, what kind of work do you do? If i could find a taxman half as dedicated as you id stop using turbotax.

Dude, that's crazy. Looks like you put a lot of time into this

i didnt see brewmaster on your list either..i need to be higher on the list than he is...lol

Sorry.

My friends, where you have problems, I have solutions.

In word, save your file as a .html file (Web page). Open up the .html file, it'll open in a web browser. Go to View>Source to view the HTML. Copy the HTML into Word again. Remove the headers and html tags that don't relate to the list (<body>, <head>, etc). All you should have left is links that look like this:
HTML:
<a href = "http://playerstatsURL">Player Name</a>

Now do the following:
  • In word, go to Edit > Replace
  • For "find what" type in "<a href =" with no quotes
  • For replace with type in "[URL ="
  • Repeat this process, finding ">" and replacing with "]" and finding "</a" and replacing with "[/URL"

The transformation will look like this:

  1. <a href = "http://playerstatsURL">Player Name</a> becomes [URL ="http://playerstatsURL">Player Name</a>
  2. [URL ="http://playerstatsURL">Player Name</a> becomes [URL ="http://playerstatsURL"]Player Name</a]
  3. [URL ="http://playerstatsURL"]Player Name</a] becomes
    Code:
    [URL ="http://playerstatsURL"]Player Name[/URL]

which is properly formatted code for a link on these forums. Tweak as necessary, enjoy, and I'll expect this in YoSpankStats version 1.1 ;)

BTW how does this list work? is it with points or what? or with how long you have been witht he clan?>

"Colonel" was one of the names we (well, I was...my girl didn't like it) were considering for Skippy before we got him =)

It basically combines your HLStats score and playing time on eGO servers, you can look at his first post with the rankings for an exact answer but I think you get 10 additional points for every hour of play time. And then he also puts us in a bit of an army hierarchy where the high ups have to be at least such ranking and etc.

I read through all of the new posts and I am a little too lazy to go back and see who asked what I do for a living right now, but the answer is...I am currently unemployed for the most part. I play and coach semi-pro football, but right now unemployment pays most of the bills haha. :S I'd destroy a job that involved numbers or whatever, but I don't have the formal job experience for them or any connections there. lol

@ ronpaul: Oh thanks, NOW you tell me...haha. Sigh. Yeah I guess I will try to do that next time...

As for how it's done...yeah, IO (SA) pretty much summed it up accurately and I've already explained a bunch of times, so...yeah. Some might notice that it is just playing time on eGO servers in general, not just playing time AS an eGO member, but if you think about it (borrowing how Ides of March so well said it to me), any time played on the eGO servers, whether in the clan yet or not, has supported the clan.

Oh, and for those of you who wonder how long this took me...the first one I did took I'd say 3-4 hours just cause I wasn't sure what or how I wanted to do it. This time around it took about half an hour collecting the numbers, another half an hour converting time played into points, about an hour running down the list manually adding the two numbers up (yes, I did them all this way because it relaxes me, and yes that quickly for so many people), and then I'd say another half an hour pulling the names out of the tables they were in and assigning to ranks. I just didn't get to these last steps until last night, or else I'd have had it up Monday morning.

Hey Dawg you got my rank wrong, I was a lt.col on duty, not to worry you can forward my bonus for killing you, what was it now? I think you said $1000 every time I killed you, I will send you my bank details later.
