I was wondering guys would playing Deathmatch help me to learn to aim better. I was just playing in a Deathmatch server and i noticed that i was getting kills where i was surprised that i even got it and i was doing better than normal. So could Deathmatch improve my tactics and help me to aim better?

I would try aim maps or just generally playing. What you want to do is learn how to burst correctly so you're not spraying all the time. D:

I dont understand the point of aim maps. I played a couple of servers with maps like that but dont see how its any different. But im working on my burst. alot of the kills i got earlier were from bursting so im on the right path

deathmatch?? I have to continuously fire, cause bad guys spwn everywhere! T^T

I love deathmatch, it's so fun

Especially when we did team deathmatch on cs_office2008, during euro hour

well the server i played on wasnt exactly death match it was team deathmatch but the name of the server had death match in it

lol its fun alright.... especially for me! the MOST deaths always in every Deathmatch game i joined... lolz

Gungames and deathmatch will definitely improve your aim. In a normal CSS game the majority of the time spent in a round is for getting to where the enemy is and then watching other people after you die; so you spend 10 seconds shooting for every 2 minutes of game time. One problem is that those servers typically have rather horrible registry/lag issues unless you're on when they aren't full. As well, maybe 70% of your skill in CSS is based on your ability to anticipate the other players and gain the upper hand before you start shooting, something you can only get through playing normal games.

I would say the do, because you keep spawning and you just practice there. Yeah.

yes deathmatch is amazing. i used to give private lessons then play on deathmatch for awhile with the person.
its great because as boochan said its just a better use of your time. you are always in the mix, always needing to be on edge and you need to really be alert for ppl to pop out ANYWHERE in the map, so you're constantly looking over your shoulder and swinging your crosshairs around etc. you will really get to learn your map and your aim will definitely improve.
i know a lot of hardcore CSS players that play deathmatch until they get like 250 deagle kills, 500 ak/m4 kills, 500 awp kills and that type of thing

If you've got the dedication to stick to something then yes.

What i mean is, if you can get into the mindset of only burst firing in small bursts (single firing for AK) and accepting no less than a headshot.

Go play deathmatch with that mindset and you will improve.
Over time you'll adapt and it'll become natural to aim for the head without even thinking about it.

Pretty soon you'll have the crosshair at head level whilst moving throughout the map.
And through practiced burst you'll be capable of taking off the head of anyone you encounter.

I have trained for aim on GunGames servers which seemed to help.

It also helps you find what guns your better at, and which ones you need to improve on.

was playing a lot deathmatch when i was playing counter strike and was playing very good on maps like de_dust2 but my computer broken (long time ago) and i was not playing counter strike in 5 months but im starting to play css again but im bad maybe i should play deathmatch sometimes ;)

Thanks for the feedback guys. just gout out of the same deathmatch server and i was 2nd on my team on the leaderboards so. I feel like im getting better.

WHAT EVER YOU DO DONT DO DM IT SCREWS YOU UP, IN DM I GOT 6 KILLS IN 1 CLIP and a 2kill 1 shot one deag BUT THAT WAS ALL LUCK, IM NOT REALLY AIMING SO JUST SRCRIM OR DUST OR HIGHSCHOOL

The trick to getting good aim is to go for heashots only. Sure it may get u a bad score but Go headshot only for bout 2 weeks. Since the head is smaller ur shots will get more precise over time.

AzN was born to play CSS so he doesn't need practice. But I would say play GG, Gungames helps you figure out which guns you're good at and you feel good once you get that 2nd keel and you get that new gun. Also, It's really fun.

hmmm, I disagree. It depends. I find that the only thing deathmatch improves is sniping skills. Honestly. It allows you to become an offensive sniper and those are really really good. Other than that, i really don't see it helping too much.

This is because: 1. You rush with low hp, don't care about dying. You spawn again anyway
2. Learn much slower when it comes to game sense ( where opponent is, how many, footsteps etc.)
3. Your style of play will change. we adapt and change to suit the style. E.g you wouldn't walk a lot in deathmatch so when you play another type of the game it will take time to pick up again
4. Tactics. You don't learn very much do you =/. These are essential in other forms of the game and scrims etc.

Overall i really believe normal matches improve you more.

Death match will only improve your aim if you actually take the time to aim as oppose to spraying. If you're going to death match, do not burst, tap your mouse instead and aim only for the head and try flicking for every kill. That will improve your aim. In addition, aim maps also improve your aim, whenever you do aim map, try to hit only flick shots, so flick for every kill, you might miss a lot at first, but you'll find yourself adjusting slowly on a weekly basis. Check out the threads I've posted on here on how to fix all your in-game/mouse settings. It is crucial that you have mouse accell off if you want to improve your aim. Good luck.
