Russians the new Nazis?

to be honest, i want somebody to develop a game where you need to defend your country from an invading US or something like that...because well lets be honest, that would be fun

You mean just sitting behind a fort killing endless waves of US soldiers? Oh definately

Its because, unlike the rest of the word, Russia doesn't give a crap if we shoot them.

But if we place in terrorists from the middle east, people are going to yell racist
If we put in Nazis, it gets banned from Germany and Australia
If black people are being shot by white people, its racist (RE5)

Just face it, most people are just crybabies
But of course, the USA almost always being the good guys helps these people cry

If memory serves me right...there was a pretty large movement in Russia to get Modern Warfare 2 banned, due to the "No Russian" level.

The level was just removed. I think that the level was a very vital piece of storytelling, it was quite emotional.
Of course, Japan just locked weapons and the elevator scene got translated to "Don't Shoot They're Russian"?
THEN WHY THE HECK WAS I SHOT IN THE END?!

But yeah, Russians are cool, but I liked the way CoD4 handled it. A little bit of middle east, with a looming Russian threat.

That reminds me of an article I read "exposing" the many plot holes in MW2. This link ->here<- actually makes a lot of sense.

Russians are a bit overplayed now as the antagonist. Everyone says that any war with the UK or many other European countries would be implausible. What a bout a modern-day civil war?

Really this transition isn't that new. It's just that the quantity of modern warfare games has increased. SOCOM Navy Seals focused on a Russian terrorist group. As just one example. Really, other games in the past have used monsters/aliens (Doom, Duke Nukem) because it was considered inappropriate at the time to depict the killing of other people. Nazis are considered monsters and therefore made appearances in early fps games such as Wolfenstein
