eGO's Texas With A Dollar Sign needs a new computer, and for cheap. Hopefully someone can help. He has a 700 dollar budget, and can't purchase anything that requires haste, ie sales.

Help him get it right? Advice / Suggestions appreciated.

The Intel one is considerably worse, with the AMD one, you get a quad core CPU, and an exellent motherboard. With the Intel one, you get a weaker dual core CPU, and an ok motherboard. The intel one may be faster ATM, but once the games start to use the quad core, the Intel system will get its ass kicked.

PSU changed from the raidmax one to antec

That ram he picked isnt even compatible with the CPU he's using. Unless he buys 2 kits, which would be really pricey. AMD uses dual channel memory, which has to be run with DIMMs in multiples of 2

That case is REALLY ugly IMO, and overpriced.

that video card is 2 generations old (soon to be 3) and would need to be upgraded soon.

I'll give you that the CPU is better, but many reviews have shown that the Athlon X4 is not far off from the PhII X4

Other than that, i dont see how it is better.

Also @Hoodie, are you looking at newegg.ca, or regular newegg, because in the OP you have both

I would not recommend that PSU.
Raidmax is an nty company.
Get Antec or Corsair instead. Much better.

Add Thermaltake to that list of PSU makers. Antec i can care a bit less for 3 DOA PSUs in a row, not a good sign.

Raidmax is middle of the road, i have the 630w version in my bro's pc, and it is actually pretty good.

The problem is, that all the corsair ones only have 1 PCIe connector. It wont matter for the 5770, but down the road it would be nice.

But yea, your right, the corsair one is probably better for this build.

Well honestly the first setup (although more expensive) I personally think has better quality. (I'm talking about the case btw)
 
"In-Win" is better quality than Cooler master?

Could you please explain your reasoning?
