AIM Virus help

Alright, so apparantly a pretty far while back, i got one of those spam link messages over AIM. And i clicked it :facewall: now i send out those links to everyone on my buddylist. HOW DO I GET RID OF IT!!!!

I've uninstalled AIM, done virus scans and nothing. Did AIMFIX also and it didn't seem to work.

Could it be possible that its because i restored my computer recently which wiped out everything and i clicked the link a long time ago.

Its like a link......for example google.com

Just like that, i clicked it once a while ago, never thought much of it. Until my friends were telling me they were getting AIM spam from me with links like ipads4free.com etc....

I wanna know how i can fix it so it stops sending out these links to all my friends. I dont know what to do!!

This is strange, if you reformatted your computer then you do not have a virus. The link was probably false and phished your account information, so now someone has your AIM. I suggest telling all of your buddies to remove you as a friend from AIM, and create a new account. Or reformat once again, redownload AIM but do not login, go to the AIM website and change your password, also report to them that this has happened.

Just changed my password.

Going to re-install AIM again before i log in or anything like that.

Hopefully this works!!!

when you say "restore" do you mean System Restore option in Windows? Or reformat of your drive? i.e. reinstalled the O/S from scratch...

Try running Malware Bytes. If that doesn't work try ComboFix.

I mean, restore the computer by re-installing OS and everything (I did this because my computer completely crashes and went crazy after an overclock hehehe)

Well, the password change seems to have fixed it. Will git it like one more day or two to fully confirm it. Usually gives it out everyday and no one has told me they've gotten it again so it seems all good.
