UFC on Versus 1/Dream 13

gonna watch it tonite, brandon vera vs jon jones should be good but really looking forward to 3/27 and watching gsp fight and mir vs carwin
 
Yeah if you have HDNET you should tape record the Dream card at 2:00am on your DVR. It will be awesome. I think Carwin will make hamburger out of Mir but who knows. The GSP will probably be Rush in a walk but if Hardy can just catch him with those hands of his we might have a new champ. Matt Serra caught him a LONG time ago but that was a different Rush.
 
im a decent sized mma fan, i can't wait for the GSP fight. i think hardy can really hype up a fight good enough, i even thought he stood a chance, but really i don't think he does. GSP will dominate that kid, hard. hardy is really basing the entire fight on a previous fight in GSPs career, where another puncher ended up catching GSP.
GSP has been around the block now, he isn't going to just let hardy stand up and bang with em, hes gonna wait for hardy to throw, throw a counter punch and take em down hard and immediately get side control/dominate the fight.

i'd say hardy is proving something by lasting past the 1st round
 
Junk, I completely agree with you about Rush. I think he will just GnP Hardy into hamburger meat all night.
How about that card tonight? Dos Santos and Jones looked very impressive. Vera didn't look like he had a shattered orbital after the fight, but he did have a very very large mouse there. Can't wait to watch the Dream 13 replay tomorrow!
 
ya that card was good, some pretty wicked shots came through tonight in a lot of the fights. dos santos pwned it!
 
CandianNoob, that's the great thing about tv. There is always something else on! Junk, Here's looking to a great event on the 27th! Do you buy events or go somewhere to watch them like Buffalo Wild Wings?

Then glad you dont watch it canadian noob, but youre entitled to your opinion cuz thats all it is,

IMO ufc/wec mma in general is much better than boxing is these days , more action, less corruption, with the exception of manny pacuiao, more legit stars and better than most things on tv these days, especially soccer and hockey but again this is for the mma fans not for people to come in and talk trash about other peoples sports they enjoy.
 
well i'll usually get together with a bunch of friends and we'll pitch in to watch it, or we'll go to crabby joes (if theres any room) and get half price appetizers...but the other GSP fight, can't remember who he was against anymore, i went around to all bars i knew were playing the fight with my GF and they were all filled up. im talking they didn't even let us in the door or technically the fire department could close them down because it was unsafe......ya....

most of the time tho i'll just wait until the day after the fights and watch them on mma-core.com
 
I have an odd situation. I was formerly employed as a manager at a sports bar and in that time my boss gave me a direct tv card. He said "Take this home and hook it up to a box and you'll have all the channels that we get in the bar". True enough it did. That was 5 years ago and I still enjoy all the channels. Don't think it's too unethical though. They have like 20 boxes so it isn't like they pay extra for the 21st box :)
 
your a lucky man, how did you like the fights last night? Dos Santos caught Gonzaga beautifully...lol...and that John Howard knockout came out of nowhere

Did not get a chance to watch the one on versus, but i am excited for the next 3 UFC events (111 112 and 113)

111 will be nice, i want hardy to win, im just not a fan of GSP (cheats lol, ask bj penn) also want frank mir to win because he seriously wants to kill brock lesnar, and i want to see that fight because frank mir put on like 20 pounds. Some other good fights are on the card for 111.

112 Should be awesome, bj penn fights are extremely fun to watch and im pretty sure he will destroy frank edgar. Than comes anderson silva! the spider is insane!, but maia is a 2nd degree black belt in BJJ, so if he can get silva on the ground he might have a chance, because he would be stupid to try and strike with silva.

113= rematch ive been waiting for, Shogun vs machida 2, their first fight came to a stupid decision by the judges. shogun ftw
 
See, I think GSP will win easily. He is stronger and has fought some good opponents.

I want Mir to win also, I think he will do better against Lesnar the third time around, maybe even break his ankle this time...lol

I don't know what else to say about Silva other than that he will win, dude is a freak!

I would like to see Shogun win, he should of won the first fight, but given a second chance Machida might look to end it early.
 
machida wow'd(spelling?) me when he ko'd rashad but he didnt look too impressive against shogun, anderson silva has some mad skills but has looked uninispired in his last few fights even though he won easily , hope he feels challenged more by maia, as far as gsp goes, he is by far one of the best if not the best in mma right now
 
i agree it didn't look like he looked too great against shogun, but i agree that he should have won the fight. you can watch it again and he landed way more solid shots. shogun mostly just punished his legs

and i don't think anybody will beat penn at 155, he is a freakin monster...just the same i think about GSP, nobody will beat him at 170 for awhile longer

just because im a shogun fan i have to point out that shogun did land more shots to the head of machida than machida did to him

Machida did land some good strikes to shogun though, but nothing dangerous, neither of them came close to finishing the fight, but those leg and body kicks by shogun are brutal... plus machidas face was messed up after (same with shoguns too)

This isnt boxing, and most of the UFC judges came from boxing and they dont understand than leg kicks can win a fight because if you take out the legs you pretty much capped their mobility. (Rampage vs forrest griffin)

agree with u about penn though, he is freaking insanse, and they should just have GSP fight anderson silva in a super fight, they have been talking about if for awhile

I watched this at a Dave & Busters with admittedly not the most educated MMA fans. A couple people were booing, but this fight was an amazing chess match. Shogun is one of my favorites and I think he executed a solid gameplan amazingly well, wish he would've keep up the pressure in the later rounds though. But anyway, Shogun was robbed and Cecil Peoples is a blankity blank! >:( :facewall:

GSP vs Hardy is a fight I really want to be a good one, and while I really like Hardy as a person from his interviews/comments, I just don't think he can hang with GSP. My gut tells me it might just end up like GSP/Thiago Alves, with Hardy getting literally dumped on the mat over and over for 5 rounds in dominating fashion.

Hardy might surprise the world with some amazing boxing or something, but I think it would take some incredible Big Nog or Anderson Silva caliber boxing to have GSP on his back. Ever since that loss to Serra he has become a completely different fighter, for the better of course.
 
dude i think if mir broke lesnar ankle he will murder him he is crazy would take 10 people to stop him from raging on mir but i do want mir to win it always a good fight
