no it wont harm your system. you simply hit the "boost now" and shows a huge list that running in the background.its going to disable all of them and when you are done playing you hit the "turn off booster" then it will put all services on again. its fairly simple.it helped me a lot. i have an old ati hd 3650 2 giga ram dual core and playing bc2 smooth with gamebooster

plus you can also select which services to stop.sometimes i forget to put the services on again and turn off the pc but next time i start everything go back to normal

I'll agree with turk, Gamebooster is very good. I've used it on alot of fps' and works well.

Really? worked wonders for my laptop. Using a constant 74-100 cpu usage lowered it right down to about 20

I was working on a website me and a friend are making TheGamingComplex and at time it would be really slow. then once I turned on teh boostar I was reading logs very smoothly

If you've got enough hdd space (which most likely is the case nowadays), I'd recommend a dual boot setup.
1. Boot the OS of your choice for doing everything but gaming.
2. Boot a lean windows install for gaming.

The idea here is that you only install your games (+vent, antivir) on the gaming boot, hence no unneeded backgroud processes. :)

If you've got questions on how to do so, feel free to ask me.

thats a awesome idea/scheme :thumbup:

but I bet that it would still help to have gamebooster to close windows aero (if your useing it) and some unneeded processes that are turned on by default. or I guess you could just manualy change that yourself.

TEEEEEEEACH MEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :scared::)

It's pretty easy:
1) Partition your hard drive
2) Install Windows on one partition, and some other operating system on the other

P.S. You probably want to back up your hard drive BEFORE you partition it; losing data to a partition = not fun.
