Hello everyone,
I had a question about hackers and hacking in general, that im hoping someone can answer..

In my recently opened crackhouse server, some guy came in and started wall hacking. In response to this our admins banned him, where one of our admins was soon buddy requested by the individual. All of this happened on our Ventrilo, however after the buddy request was sent out, our fellow admin had disconnected. Around an hour later he comes back on, saying that the wall hacker had crashed his internet and that it was a "warning" to not mess with him. Appariently the kid scripts, so when he came back in, appariently he and the hacker had worked things out, the hacker said he would show us some scripts in the server, where i then left to avoid damages to my PC.

During my time inside the server, the hacker asked me if i was "scared" and that now i know that he can crash my internet, and he threatened to crash mine for a year. For this reason, I felt that backing out was the best thing to do, so i logged off steam, and rushed to the forums to find a solution.

Is what he said a logical gesture, and what am I to do in a situation like this?
How can I avoid him accessing my PC,
And how do we block him from our server. He could still crash it when he wasnt in.

Thanks alot --
:scared:

Im not a hacker and I never expect to be, but in my opinion this guy sounds like he is all talk and to not worry about it too much. If you see him again, just permanantly ban him(IP and SteamID) and if he comes back mad and say's he'll "hack you", just demo it and send it to ValvE. Im not a hacker so I dont know if this random guy is capable of doing what you said but to me it sounds like complete talk to just scare you.

Sorry if this doesnt make sense, Its late.

Pro-tip: A hacker will never let you know he/she is a hacker until they have complete and full access to your computer.

Conclusion: Probably some little ***hole sitting somewhere around the world harassing people. At the most, he could interrupt your internet service, doubting he could take control over your computer.

I am suggesting he is highly unlikely to get access to your computer by intrusion.
From experience, I can tell you not one single time did I alert someone if I was planning an intrusion attack(For Network Security purposes, of course. ;)). For what? So they can make it harder? I think not, he's just a little punk.

Sure, he can take down a server if he tries hard enough.
Anyone can DoS.
Hell, anyone can DDoS with a strong enough connection.

I'm almost positive the most he can do is grief by interruption, tell him to pack his **** and go back to /b/ on 4chan.org

Most likely he might TRY to DDos your PC, and probably fail at it :p

Best not to run stuff off your own PC though, to avoid problems

'Real' hackers take an oath and are registered with the Federal government of their native country. The begining of that oath.....just like the hypocratic oath, DO NO HARM. Freedom of information is key. If that little child that uses hacking / loop scripts gives you trouble, let us know. The oath does NOT provide safety for stupidity and specifically excludes little children who call themselves hackers and/or cause harm.

NOTE*: By little child, I refer to the state-of-mind and not the year you are born.

That is the truth.
Sadly, I am not affiliated with my Government.

Like iSimon, Angellas, and I've said:
There's a high chance this guy is full of ****. As above, if he continues to grief you, let us know. We'll take care of it.

Hope you enjoy uninterrupted gaming! <3

Since he was already banned, it wasn't a script. It was a lame kiddie ddos. Anyone and their sister can ddos. If he calls him self a hacker because he can ddos, he's a waste of skin.

With that said, if he decides to ddos you or any of your friends, just cycle your modem and your IP will change. As said above, IP & Steam ID ban him. Anyone who hacks/cracks, doesn't talk about it.

The chances of him having enough connections to even pull off a DDOS is so small that it's almost laughable. People who actually successfully DDOS a website or anything of that sort usually have millions of PC's under their control before they do so.

I'd just ignore the script kiddie and enjoy yourself. If you're really paranoid, just install a firewall and go about your business. I know norton's firewall has a DDOS detection feature. At least I know the enterprise version does.
