[Sexy Beast]

Story: Double Cross, Triple Cross, Quadruple Cross!!!!

Review: This is easily one of the most entertaining WWII actioneers ever made. Just give it 10 minutes of your time, just 10 minutes and you'll be hook for the rest of the film. Great acting from both Burton amd Eastwood, who play quite well off each other. The tension, action and mystery never stops. If you love action then you will love this film.

Story: "What's with all the negative waves?"

Review: A lighthearted WWII film from the same guy who brought us Where Eagles Dare. This is a wildly entertaining film that tells the tale of a group of US troops, lead by Eastwood, who hear about a large cache of Gold deep behind Nazi lines. If you've seen Three Kings or played the first Battlefield: Bad Company then you know the score. Both funny and action packed, this is one of my favorite WWII films.

Bad news...I haven't seen 3:10 to Yuma. While I plan to rectify this eventually, in the mean time here is another Western

Title: The Proposition
Year: 2005

Director: John Hillcoat

Story: Kill your older brother by christmas or I will kill your mentally retarded younger brother.

Review: Technically not a western, but it so thematically similar that it could easily be one. The Proposition is one of the best Western type films to come out in the last decade. The story is appropriately dark and violent for the time and the location. The film takes place in 1880s Australia where civilization is trying to regain control of the chaos found in the wilderness. Great acting by all those involved, with stand out performances from Hurt, Winstone and Huston. Slow moving at time, but over all satisfying.

Title: The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!

Director: David Zucker

Story: "Protecting the Queen's safety is a task that is gladly accepted by Police Squad. No matter how silly the idea of having a queen might be to us, as Americans, we must be gracious and considerate hosts."

Review: There are more jokes per-minute in this movie than most films out there. From the same team that brought you Airplane came a brilliant cop parade that's firing at all cylinders. Though the film slows a little at the end, it's a great experience and one that everyone should watch.

Story: Bad things happen to people in the 70s. At least it looks like the 70s.

Review: I really don't get the popularity of this film...nor do I really understand how it's a horror film. We basically follow a small group of fugitives and the vigilante cop that chases them. I guess the film treads into Nietzsche territory, meaning beware of fighting monsters lest you become one. The film is really all that violent in comparison to some others that I've seen, nor is it all that scary. It's alright I suppose some of the characters are likable to a degree. It's the kind of film that I cannot decided whether or not I like.

Story: If Chev Chelios stops, Chev Chelios dies.

Review: Remember when I said that Die Hard was the ultimate action movie setup, well this one is just as high up there. Our protagonist was injected with some Chinese poison that will kill him if he stops moving. So he must stay alive just long enough to get revenge...and revenge he gets. This film does not stop and just keeps on getting better and better. Still a B-movie at heart and get a little tired near the end, but still a fun movie.

I'm with you on Jason Statham, he's amazing and I can't wait to see him in the Expendables. From the trailers, it looks to be the most action packed, manliest movie ever.

Story: Some dude knocks up some chick. Hilarity ensues.

Review: Here is something you don't see quite often: A coming of age story for someone in their mid-twenties...or I could mean you see it quite often, I forget. Anyway this one is pretty funny and deals with a slacker getting responsibility. It's sentimental and at times can even be a little profound. So I guess I liked it, who knew.

Story: Corporations are bad. Get it?

Review: Campy want-to-be profound vampire film deals with an interesting premise; that everyone on the planet is a Vampire and there are just a few humans left. The film is just poorly executed and brought down further by some really stupid plot decisions. The acting is alright, but that's to be expected with the talent that they have. There is just so much wasted potential here, it's kind of sad.

Story: A man challenges death to a game of chess. Existential journey ensues.

Review: Hey look the first foreign language film on the list. The Seventh Seal is a film that is strangely both really deep and yet really light heated. It's easily one of the most original film ever committed to cinema and a true masterpiece. If you're willing to read through the subs than definitely watch this one.

Story: Giant robots come to earth and fight each other.

Review: An entertaining action film from a man who usually is capable of doing just that. Bay's transformers is nothing special, but it's fun for what it is and a lot of stuff goes boom.

Story: Three somewhat talented writers were paid $8 million to write this film. They were locked in a hotel for 4 months while they wrote it. This is their story.

Review: I'll quote a better film to review this movie, "Mr. [Bay], what you've just [directed] is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever [seen]. At no point in your rambling, incoherent [film] were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having [watched] it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."

Yeah, this movie sucked. Like really hard.

Story: Harry Tasker is one bad a** spy.

Review: This might by my favorite action film of the 90s. I really can't think of another one that comes close. Everything about this movie works perfectly. The action is over the top, the humor is spot on and the characters are all likable. Possibly notable for being the only time that Tom Arnold was actually good in a movie.

Title: A Fish Called Wanda

Story: "Look I'm sorry I ate your fish"

Review: A Fish Called Wanda is an incredibly well written english style comedy. The jokes are all spot on and the characters are all pretty well fleshed out. The story is a little flimsy, but for a comedy that's to be expected. There are some really big laughs to be found in this one. Kevin Kline is a stand out as the moronic ex-CIA agent who fancies himself an intellectual.
