Article ITT I attempt to review every movie I've seen.

Finally, some one used a billy madison quote, and transformers 2 was pretty bad. Also speaking of, you should review billy madison

Title: An American Werewolf in London
Year: 1981
Country of Origin: USA/UK
Director: John Landis

Story: An American gets bitten by a werewolf while visiting England. Hilarity ensues.

Review: This is one of the great Horror/Comedy films. Not really all that scary of a film, though the werewolf transformations scene that they do is amazing looking. The comedy part is really well done and the film has an amazing abrupt ending...or whatever that means.

Madness_of_king_george-715444.jpeg

Title: The Madness of King George
Year: 1994
Country of Origin: UK
Director: Nicholas Hytner

Story: The King has gone mad at a most inopportune time.

Review This film is based on the real life events of King George III's decent into madness. Now I'm not a big fan of period pieces, but I really enjoyed this one. The script is sharply written and the characters are well drawn. Though the subject matter is a little dark, the film is actually quite humorous. Overall are really entertaining film, that is also quite watchable.

Title: Billy Madison
Year: 1995
Country of Origin: USA
Director: Tamra Davis

Story: Wealthy man-child has to revisit every grade in school to be able to get control of his fathers company.

Review: As much as I love Billy Madison I have to acknowledge that this is not by any means a good movie. In fact this is a really bad movie, but one that plays so well on it's own internal stupidity that it is hard not to love. Billy Madison is one of those films that defy any critical negativity and has wafted into the un-touchable territory of childhood nostalgia.

Title: Tetsuo: The Iron Man
Year: 1989
Country of Origin: Japan
Director: Shinya Tsukamoto

Story: To tell the truth, I really don't know.

Review: This film is pretty hard to review, mostly because I have no idea what the story is about. Well I have some idea, but most of whatever plot there is goes off the rails in the final third. All I know is that it's weird, violent and thankfully short. I have had one friend equate it to an hour long Acid trip. I really don't know how to rate it, because I don't know whether or not I liked it...and I saw this like a year ago.

Waltz_with_Bashir_Poster.jpg

Title: Waltz with Bashir
Year: 2008
Country of Origin: Israel
Director: Ari Folman

Story: An Israeli filmmaker who has seemingly blocked out his memories of the 1982 Lebanon War, goes on a journey to learn more about the nature of memory and his role in the war.

Review: This film is one of a kind, an animated documentary of an actual war. The basic concept sounds like a oxymoron, but it surprisingly well done. This is not a feel good movie. Anyone who knows the history, then knows that the war culminated in a massacre of hundreds if not thousands of Palestinians. The film is surrealistic, interesting and profound. One of the most sobering films I've seen in a while...though some might not appreciate it for it's candor.

Cache_Haneke.jpg

Title: Cach?
Year: 2005
Country of Origin: France/Austria
Director: Michael Haneke

Story: Hey France, remember Algeria? Yeah, some people haven't forgotten.

Review: This film has thematic similarities with Waltz With Bashir, so that's why I'm doing this now. The film is just one big metaphor that deals with France's attempt to forget what they did to Algeria and the 1961 Paris massacre. The film is pretty slow moving, but still interesting to watch. I can't really recommend it to everyone, but it's still worth a watch.

Title: Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb
Year: 1964
Country of Origin: UK
Director: Stanley Kubrick

Story: "Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room."

Review: The best political satire ever made. Nothing has come close to this cold war comedy, which deal with a General who as gone off his rocker and ordered a nuclear strike against the USSR. Everything is spot on perfect and funny as hell. Might be a little slow moving for some people, but still a must see for just about everyone.

Title: Scooby-Doo and the Witch's Ghost
Year: 1999
Country of Origin: USA
Director: Jim Stenstrum

Story: Scooby-Doo and the goth chicks.

Review: Your basic Scooby-Doo movie story...meaning that it isn't some guy in a rubber mask, but an actual paranormal activity. I haven't seen this in...maybe a decade, so not much I can remember of the plot or well anything. I know there were goth chicks and an author who is the villain, but I do remember not liking it at whatever age I saw it...so bad score for you Scooby-Doo.

Well I did say that I watched it a decade ago. So I was probably 10 at the time. I know that the Dragonball Z movie unfortunately has Chow Yun-Fat playing Roshi...this knowledge pains me for I do like Chow Yun-Fat and I was a fan of DBZ as a kid. So in one fell-swoop that movie destroyed to things that I like. Anyway:

Hard-boiled-film-poster.jpg

Title: Hard Boiled
Year: 1992
Country of Origin: Hong Kong
Director: John Woo

Story: The body count of this movie measures in at 307.

Review: This is the defining movie for both John Woo and Chow Yun-Fat. Ignore the movie poster up there, it doesn't do justice for just how awesome this movie is. The action comes fast and way over the top. This is the best film of Woo career and nearly tops all other action films out there. It's a must see.

Title: Raiders of the Lost Ark
Year: 1981
Country of Origin: USA
Director: Steven Spielberg

Story: There's really no need to tell you.

Review: Quite possible the most entertaining movie ever made. That's all you need to know. Seriously, if you haven't seen this movie than you are missing out big time.

Death-at-a-funeral-poster.jpg

Title: Death at a Funeral
Year: 2007
Country of Origin: UK
Director: Frank Oz

Story: A man dies. Hilarity ensues.

Review: Nearly forgot to do this one. I should have done this on like Friday to coincided with that unneeded remake. Death at a Funeral is a damn funny English style dark comedy. The acting is great and the characters are relatively likable. The humor starts off slow but as the film progresses the situations and jokes begin to compound leading to an outrageously funny ending.

I also saw Walts with Bashir, it somewhat confused me and I didn't expect the nudity. But still pretty good. And you should review Monty Python's Life of Brian and the Holy Grail

Yeah, the nudity sort of comes out of no where.

Monty_python_and_the_holy_grail_2001_release_movie_poster.jpg

Title: Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Year: 1975
Country of Origin: UK
Director: Terry Gilliam and Terry Jones

Story: "Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony."

Review: The first theatrical outing of ever popular British comedy troupe is incredibly funny. Easily one of the most referenced films of all time and one that is quoted to death. Unfortunately that film can't really carry itself to it's fourth wall shattering finally.

Title: Monty Python's Life of Brian
Year: 1979
Country of Origin: UK
Director: Terry Jones

Story: "Always look on the bright side of life."

Review: The second Python film is their most focused film and as such their best. The films tagline is actually pretty accurate, "A motion picture destined to offend nearly two thirds of the civilized world. And severely annoy the other third." The humor is satirical against everything from religion to politics and has one of the most sacrilegious endings ever found in a film.

Title: Monty Python's The Meaning of Life
Year: 1983
Country of Origin: UK
Director: Terry Jones

Story: "Well, that's the end of the film. Now, here's the meaning of life."

Review: The final Python film is spectacular, but still freakin hilarious. Though it whole thing is a little disjointed...haha...who am I kidding, it's very disjointed. Still I wholeheartedly recommend this film, it's mighty entertaining.
