My 2 years in Edgegamers

On May 8th, I was officially in Edgegamers for 2 years. In between all the stuff ive been doing lately ive been working on this post. Finally got around to finishing it today.


When I joined Edgegamers, I joined through the TF2 Division. At the time the TF2 division had a 24/7 Goldrush server that I played every day. That along with the 24/7 2fort server was the reason I joined. When I originally joined I kept to myself not expecting anything to come out of the organization except some servers to play on.

July 27, 2008 I was promoted to eG in the TF2 division. I wasn't expecting to ever be promoted in a big community, and I was extremely surprised when I was. I continued to play in TF2 quite often, but a real life friend convinced me to purchase Counter-Strike: Source and play with him.

August 26th, 2008 I started my transfer to the CS:S division because of the Dust2 server and the Jail server. I remember one of my first times in Jail I got playing with Zoomer when he was an eGO and in the eGO noob team (I mean cal team).

October 1st, 2008 I was attending a "Wacky Wild Wednesday" event hosted by Oldie. Console messages came through the server notifying me that I was promoted to eGO. After my promotion to eGO in CS:S I pretty much decided to make it my home.

January 9th, 2009 I was officially promoted to Advisor. But lets hold that thought for a second and venture a week or so earlier. I was AFK from my computer (for whatever reason, comon you cant expect me to remember all the details) and when I returned Mostly Harmless was lurking in my channel. I thought I was in trouble for some reason (ide imagine that's what everyone expects when an council member is just kinda waiting for you in your channel). He gave me the whole advisor speech and asked me if I was up for the job. Obviously I said yes and after that... had to wait a week keeping the secret from everyone ~_~.

May 15th, 2009 was probably the most exciting day since I joined Edgegamers. It was the day I was promoted to Division Leader of the best Edgegamers division (yes TF2, we are better than you). Me and Eje007 were promoted together to assist Crimson run the division.

Almost a year later, here we are. Through the past 2 years I have had the best online gaming experience. I have had such a blast playing with some of the best gamers on the internet. I'm looking forward to another 2 years in the best online gaming community, and being a part of the greatest division Edgegamers has.

This was an interesting bit of information to read about our division leader. When reading this and seeing your promotion to eG eGO and even Advisor I couldn't really imagine you with anything else then [DL] Next to your name =/ Idk I guess I'm just so used to seeing that.

You have really made inspiring and innovative changes to the CS:S division. I find that the way you both delegate responsiblity and simultaneously take command of an entire division of hundreds of people to be a real rare quality, expecially on the internet. I'm not new to the game, and I've seen tons of clans rise and fall, but seeing you organize meetings and events on such a grand scale is truly inspirational. It's been an honor and a pleasure to serve with you.
