Review: This is an alright film that's not particularly memorable, but at the same time isn't terrible. It's not that have something against Brad Anderson and in fact didn't know that he directed this and the above film. It's an alright mystery that sort of tries to do a David Lynch, but can't quite pull it off.

hey sexy beast, gotta admit that your a pretty harsh critic because for all the fillers in the movie, i thought it was a pretty good movie. ill admit that its not worth a 2nd watch, but ill admit that it was pretty decent. i would have to give it a 6 because denzels character seemed a bit shy while johns character was a lil bit off the wall. i would definitely be interested in seeing the original tho. also beast, please repost the link to your netflix queue so that i can watch some of the flix that ur interested in watching so i can watch & review em. i would also suggest that you watch the movies (partly for your enjoyment) but also to give a 2nd review as everyone always has a 2nd opinion bout each movie.

I would recommend making your own thread, after all this is Beast's... It would get pretty cluttered with two people reviewing.

Story: Aliens attack earth and for some strange reason they name it Independence Day.

Review: Not a great film, but still an entertaining one. This tale follows several individuals as they attempt to survive and fight the Alien invasion. One of the more memorable films to come out of the 90s. Also pretty funny to see Will Smith teamed up with Jeff Goldblum. Seriously though...the plot is full of holes. Then again the Aliens could have been running Windows.

I don't disagree with the rest of your review, but wasn't it called that because the aliens fired their laser on July 4th?

They blew up the ships on the 4th. I just thought the title a little contrived.

Story: Crew of spaceship go down on planet, one of the crew members get an alien stuck on their face...and you know the rest.

Review: Poor Tony Scott...it must suck to have such a talented older brother. I mean Alien is a classic and one of the best horror films ever made. Tony has Top Gun and True Romace...ehh...yeah. So yeah not much more to say about this other than that...sooo...see the movie.

That one basically just got a theatrical release here in the states...unfortunately it still hasn't been released in a theater near me.

Review: Hey, here is a stupid idea: Make a sequel to the celebrated horror film Alien. Well at least it seemed like it could have been a complete disaster, instead Cameron managed to crank out the greatest Sci-fi action film ever made. This is the film that made space marines awesome...the one that created the black Sargent character that Halo ripped off. There is no equal to this film.

Story: Ripley winds up on a prison colony and wouldn't you know...an alien shows up.

Review: This movie had so much potential that it brings tears to my eyes when I see the final product. The film was initially suppose to be that the Aliens had made their way to earth and there was going to be an epic battle for control of earth...it was going to be ****ing amazing.

Instead we have this movie. Now I like David Fincher, he is a fine director...but really wasn't the right guy for this job. That and the film was well over budget even before they called in Fincher. The final product is a dull mess, none of the characters are interesting and the story just sucks. What we have here is a film that went into production without a finished script and a prime example of a studio having to much control over a production.

Story:

Robin Hood: "Because, unlike some other Robin Hoods, I can speak with an English accent."

Review: Flawed but funny spoof on the over done Robin Hood tale. The jokes fly pretty fast and are a variety of visual and physical comedy. It's still pretty hit or miss...but none the less an entertaining film.

Director: Mary Harron

Story: "I have to return some videotapes."

Review: Well done adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis's novel of the same name. The plot follows Patrick Bateman a powerful Wall Street 80s business guy who enjoys cocaine, eating out at restaurants...and murdering people. The film as with the book is an interesting look into the self-centered and materialistic Yuppie culture of the 80s. The film is basically a dark comedy and one that is a well shot and acted.

Story: Tetsuooooo!

Review: Ehh...damn this is a difficult plot to summarize. From what I can remember, a Demigod-like individual was born in Japan and some how managed to destroy Tokyo. Fast forward about 30 years and we see that Tokyo is rebuilt and is now under the management of a corrupt parliament, or something and rigid...Yeah, I'm not going to summarize this.

Anyway this is a well done Anime that is really violent and has an ending that doesn't make any sense. Still, this one is worth a watch.
