Mac on steam vs windows

I lawled when they put mac on steam. I dont how many games will be on mac, if css, tf2, bc2 etc. will be able to run. ;)
 
it's kinda a worthless test, it was done on a hackintosh which almost never run right and the drivers are usually pretty sluggish.

they should of took an existing mac and built a pc to the same specs.

but i don't really see this post really going anywhere but a flame war about inanimate objects
 
Every Wednesday they're suppose to release a group of games for mac. They also said all the source games will be available for mac.

Besides being done on a hacked version of OSX and with hardware that is not native to OSX, valve released an updated fixing that issue. If they truly want to do a test they need to use a mac, with windows on it instead of the other way around.
 
Arrakis here, but I in fact have a mac *don't flame me please :P* but um i've been using steam for the past few days to test it out. So far so good, hopefully CS:S and probably the other source games will be ported soon because portal runs fine w/o any glitches what so ever. Granted my the graphic details arent that spectacular because i have a regular macbook but all in all it runs like a charm.

You Windows guys are pretty close minded when its coming to this. I think it will do good. And i think it may be due in part to the Operating system on Mac itself. My girlfriends dad has a Mac with Windows XP installed as the OS and it runs Bad Company 2 at 100 fps no problem. Ive seen the Mac run games. Its not as bad as people may think.
 
Well good depends on the developers, sure Valve is porting games and some other developers but how many more will follow suite?
This could end as a big flop, or like the PS3 could start slow with a trickle and then move onto something big with lots of games and possibly exclusives. I put my money on the second possibility because of the obvious money that could be made but who knows?

Exactly! I run Call of Duty on the highest graphic settings perfectly fine, WoW as well, Urban Terror, and now Portal all on a MacBook. I'm soon getting a free 2010 MacBook Pro 15" from my insurance company, my other laptop got stolen and had Firewire on it while the new MacBook's don't have Firewire; therefor I get a MacBook Pro! I can't wait to see how it runs all the soon to come Steam games.

Let's just have peace amongst us PC users, eh?

They all have their pro's and con's :cool:

Indeed. As said, It may just start slow like the PS3 did. But look at the Ps3 now. Its competing with the 360 quite easily now. All in all we all just need to be friends. We are eGO, a family of gamers. We need to act like it too.
