When I go to launch TF2, it brings up the Validating Your Crap window. It gets to 10% and then jumps to 100%.

Anyone else have this problem and actually fixed it?

Just fired it up. No problems.

I think it's just you. You are a questionable, shady kinda guy. :D

If I have to uninstall steam completely to fix this, I'm going to rage so hard.

It's also telling me the Steam Servers are too busy to handle my request, because we at steam have no idea what we are doing. Any ideas?

I had that happen to me, i ran the steam defragment and another one to get the steam gcf's consolidated, then it worked...

This happened after that slue of small updates valve did a while ago.

You can do that in Steam under the Library. Right Click TF2 > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Cache.
Can't really explain it jumping 90% like that though.

Best bet is to uninstall and reinstall it, I had that problem and only way i fixed it was to reinstall it.

Do a steam defrag and if after that there is still the problem, I can't think of any less complicated things other than reinstalling, sure it takes a few hours but at least youll be able to play in the end:)

Backup your TF2 game files. Then you remove it. Then you restore it. Then it updates and hopefully the garbage update that caused it doesn't have a problem!

Try the following:
in the command prompt from the windows install cd: Format C:\ /Q
That should clear up that pesky validating files :P

JK, I shouldn't say stuff like that, someone might actually try it!!!

PS. People, DO NOT TRY THIS, IT'LL ERASE WINDOWS!!!

What was really fun was windows 98 where you could just open command line and type that in, and then laugh as it formatted the windows partition while windows was still running :D
