Power Issues maybe ?????

Okay here is the problem I built a computer about 1 year ago. Everything was going great and all of a sudden my fans seem to be making a sound like they are not getting enough power. I used one of the power calculators and it claims that I have way more power supply than what I need but I am not sure.

Specs are
5 120 mm led fans
1 120 standard fan
a Dominator memory cooler fan

Amd phemonm II 3.00 gig unclocked
ati 4870 x2 unclocked
500 gig sata hard drive
dvd burner
8 gig of 1066 ram (4 sticks)

800 watt power supply (850 peak)

I only have 2 usb items plugged in my wireless combo for the keyboard/mouse
and the printer.

Any advice would be nice :facewall:

Hmm, if it was running for a whole year with no problems it might just be your fans. If the power calculator says its fine it probably is.

What kind of sound are they making, exactly?

lights on fans dim way down and they sound like they are slowing way down as well.

Try plugging your fans into a different molex cable that's coming off of the PSU. It's possible that either:
A. The PSU is going bad (Possible, but so long as you bought a reputable brand, doubtful.)
B. The fans are going bad
C. One of the cables which connects from the PSU to the fans has come loose somehow and is causing a bad connection.

I would love to know what brand PSU you are using Santiago. Have you tried Mr. Blades suggestion of using a different molex cable? If you have the adapters, you could even try off the sata cable.

If any of the fans have mobo header connectors, try connecting one to a mobo fan header to get another idea of whats going on. You could also take the season into consideration, it is now summer and if you have dust bunnies clogging up your PSU, that may cause a problem. Not sure what part of the country your at, but ambient temps have risen. I had to downclock my 930 from 4.2 to 4.0 because of this, not a major temp difference but enough to make me uncomfortable

The 2 fans I am having trouble with are actually attached to the fan controller in my apevia jupter x case. I am going to try taking them off the controller and see what happens.
