I see no OS
Expect an extra $99 to that
OS is not included in the HARDWARE budget.

Yes, add $99.

lol yes phobus, you can. and thanks for all the info... I came into around $1k more so $2,000 possible for a computer build... anyone wanna do that one???lol, upgrade the heck outta a computer and I'll love you forever....
I'll put something together in a second.

1000w is a "bit" much.

I have the 750 version, it's amazingly quiet. Fully modular and Silver certified,
1000w is perfect.....still corsair HX series??? lol
I run 1000w and its doing my tri-fire good. I only got it for the future incase i wanna run more SLI/Crossfire solutions.
Corsair HX is the best but still pricey IMO.
Only thing i would change with Phobus is the motherboard to the EVGA one i recommended, it will be much better in terms of overclocking and gaming (Doesn't matter much though its minor, i just prefer EVGA now considering i use one)
And the RAM, it's good but the heatsinks on it will conflict with CPU coolers especially if you get a good one. I have the Noctua which is the best air cooler (still should be if im not mistaken) and any heatsink on the RAM like that would not fit.
Everything else is good though, HDD with an SSD.
GTX 470 SLI will get you performance better than a 5970 in most situations and should have some good overclocking headroom especially Asus cards with some volt tuning.
You don't really need to Overclock the CPU yet though, that can wait. I would get the build me and phobus are recommending first and then later on down the road go buy a good CPU HSF and overclock the 930. Im pretty sure it can easily go over 4.0ghz with good cooling. My 920 get 4.0ghz with my noctua and i didn't even get a good 920 chip compared to others.
yea they're both good......you see the Asus 5870 V2 and ROG.....those things have some ridiculous overclock speeds and HSF. I think they were getting like 1050mhz core and stuff like that pretty easily with a small voltage bump, hitting like 990mhz without any voltage at all.
I can't wait to see how the ATI 6000 series are....probably upgrade when those come out
I know. We all know.
You say it every time anyone talks about upgrades. lol
And what? Seriously? 990 at stock voltage? My god. What can it get with max voltage?
