If they did do a Half-Life movie, it would have to cover something other than the events of Half-Life. Like, as OP said, the 7 Hour War. It works in a movie, because movies are much shorter than 7 hours.

I'm glad they aren't making it, I can't think of a video game movie that was even halfway decent.

Half-Life is one of the few games out there where is Movie adaptation would be 100% pointless. The game itself is a cinematic experience and one that is already perfectly told. All a movie would be, is a condensed version of the story that removes the sense of journey and atmosphere that only a game can create.

Only one based on the events of Half-Life. We still don't have any specific idea about what happened in between HL and HL2.
But if it is/might be/will be(unconfirmed movie) based on the events of Half-Life, then I'll have to agree with you.

They said they were experimenting with it, which leads me to believe they will do an animated movie, not a Real Life Action like it should be.

If they did, they should do it like the game, every episode, every level, every little detail. I hate movies that are made from games, they cut too much out.
