Idk why I just can't control the recoil on the guns can anyone help :facewall:

Fire in bursts to get distanced shots. Try to stick with ONE class so you can master a certain weapon quickly. For me, I started playing as the Assault class, with the mp40.. for it's easy to control.

Crouch when firing when you have time to handle weapons like the STG44 (mp44) better. If you fire more than 5 or 6 shots automatically with the stg 44 or the B.A.R. the gun WILL start to point upwards. Depending on what your mouse's invert is, either pull the mouse down or push it upwards to keep control of the weapon.

Trust me my dude. just stick with a certain weapon for a while, like literally a week or two and you'll master it.

I haven't played in 6 months, but that was how I did play.. All though I'm thinking of installing it and pwning all on avalanche again. ;]

Try to use the assault class because the recoil is very easy to control and is more suited for new players.

You can also try to increase your mouse sensitivity so its easier to control the recoil as you don't have to pull your mouse down as much.

Which specific weapons are you having trouble with?

the worst class to start with (imo) is support...the stg44 and BAR both have a lot of recoil...assault class is a good place to start...when you fire (if not firing in bursts) pull down on the mouse slightly to help keep the gun from raising up on you...if you wanna try support...best thing to do is fire 3 to 4 round bursts...you'll still have to pull back on the mouse a little to compensate for the recoil, but its much easier to control while trying to get used to the weapon...and like fabbrin said...try to stick with one class while starting out...itll be easier for you to master a class...and if you start with assault, when you move to support you'll know how to counter the recoil...only thing thatll change will be compensating for the harder kick..

Try to crouch and fire in bursts to lower recoil. Support is very hard to start with, assault should suit you well for now. Remember to crouch if you have the chance and to keep from firing full-auto except for at point blank range. If you just can't get either of those, play around with the MG for a while next...of course recoil is only a problem there when not deployed. Just feel around until you find your comfort zone! :)

Firing is bursts is probably your best bet. Also if you aim at the waist and fire, usually the recoil will shoot up and you might even get a headshot. If you're using the Assault's weapons, just fire randomly for headshots >=)

Aim for the chest with anything automatic, it will eventually hit their head.

I prefer trial by fire. Start your own server, pick a support class, find a fixed object or small sign on a wall somewhere 20 yards away from you and go FULLY AUTOMATIC on it for a half or full magazine. Repeat this 20 times, each time make small adjustments to keep your grouping tight around that object. Just get a feel for the weapon at fully auto. After 20 attempts you should have noticeably better recoil control, and then do it another 20 times and continue doing it over and over and over, and then find new objects, walls, or signs and do it another 20 times. You'll be threading needles with your BAR after an hour of this, and then it's simply a matter of translating your practice into server play. Practice is repetition, skill is the result of that repetition. If you can master recoil on the support weapons then you can do anything.

Its oke you suck, I suck too, I'm in the DOD:S division for 1.5 years now, but I havn't played DOD much the last 2 months, so i'm also getting worse :P

However i remember the days i was awesome with sniping, just use a weapon a lot and master it, like mentioned before:)

Goodluck player DOD:S;)

dont worry i'm not good playing dod also :) you will get better to training everyday :) and yes first try use assault class before you trying to use support class ;)

As support when doing area defense: go prone (lie down) it cuts down on the recoil. It's also dangerous because you cannot fire while transitioning between standing and prone or prone to standing. From a distance do short bursts and aim at their feet. The recoil will "walk" the bullets up through their body to their head. When closer aim at their belt buckle and "walk" the bullets up to their head. Any burst longer than three rounds is probably too long. Also remember the game won't let you fire a support weapon while moving.

As a machine gunner use the right mouse button to deploy the tripod, either on a wall or from the prone position. Don't even try the Rambo fire while standing thing. That is what your secondary weapon is for.

One last thing. It's a game. Do it for fun and laugh when you die. Save the worrying about skill for real life stuff. That's where it matters.

hmm if only there was a weapon in dods that required nearly no aiming and had no recoil to speak of...

hmmm...

ok here is my tip for you.

try practicing with bots in offline mode, (add me to steam and il tell you how to add them)

ok so when you're using the support class stg44 or browning automatic rifle move your mouse slowly downwards, for beginners i reccomed moving in crouch in places where enemies might occur, that way you reduce the recoil.. when you have practiced a while try killing when standing and later while your moving.

rifle: When you use rifle try getting some distance from your enemy. being to close with rifle is a nightmare

mg: if you're mg ALLWAYS plant it before firing if you dont its impossible to controll it

but as i said its smart to train on the bots first ;)

add me to steam and il tell you how to add them to a "create server game"(couldn't find a better word for it) :P
