Like the race you play most with? I liked zerg, but I am moving more towards terran now. Mainly because you can build anywhere and barricade yourself in your base and not have to worry about someone sneaking a drone in if your fast enough. That and Ive seen a lot of vids that show how OP the M&M ball can be. I still think that protoss are extremely OP cuz of their shields, but thats just me. So what makes the race you play with your favorite?

I play T becasue thats what ive always played. I didnt have very much BW experiance but when ever i would play it would always be T. I just like the feel of T i dont know what it is just that ive always liked it. T could be nerfed into the ground and i would still playing just because there my favorite, balance to me is not a justifiable way to pick your main race, the playstyle you have is.

Don't get focused on things being overpowered, it really only matters in the upper levels of play. In the lower levels your both making so many mistakes, it really doesn't come into play. If you focus on it to much it impedes your development in skill.

There are a infinite number of strats and already multiple that will take care of MnM easily. If you are going to switch races, don't just do it because it's the flavor of the month. Strats get developed on daily basis, and then people have to come up with a good counter. It's a constant flip flop, so some new strats seem hard to beat until people think about a good strat to combat it. And if you change races based on trends, your never going to get good at one race. Especially if you go, oh I get beat by them all the time so it must be better. Mainly it's because of your weakness at one matchup. It make look easy when they beat you, but when you try it will be a lot different.

The only reason to change races is if you think it fits your personality/playstyle more. A race with just click with you and you'll have fun with that race way more than either one.

I like to play as zerg because they are really versatile and the macro to me is not that hard...
Even though people complain about queens having to spawn larva its not that bad...

I see what your saying, but I like getting an overall feel of things and learning how to play all races allows me to see things differently. Think of it like this, by learning to play a class you can see how their army works and perhaps learn what they are weak to and strong against. I know there are a lot of strats that counter other strats and so on, but Im liking the feel of terran game play. I Know that im starting and when I watch my replays I can see how I should of lost a game that I won somehow and I try and learn from those mistakes when possible. I actually won a game as terran today that I think I should of lost :).

I like protoss because their unit quotes are so much more epic than Terran. Terran is a group of stupid humans with nothing interesting to say, sure they're funny but you don't give the impression that they're all that passionate about being there (they're mostly criminals, armies of non-volunteer soldiers is a TERRIBLE idea) and they're just sarcastic punks for the most part. Protoss units? They have a unit called a ZEALOT. They're in it for the glory and for honor. Sure they get witty when you push them but they remind me of the samurai, and the terran remind me of, well, americans

I like Protoss. Like Cut said, Protoss is a race that just clicked with me. I have tons of fun Protoss, even if I lose.

Not sure where you hail from, but seems that I fit right in with this crowd ;). I like protoss, dont really have any dislikes of other races. I havnt really played with protoss much, still learning terran basics, perhaps after I get a grasp on that I will try protoss out and see which of the 3 races sticks out more for me.

Yes, generally people play all three races for a bit of time and you will find out quite quickly which one clicks with your personality. After that, you won't ever want to change, even after the addition of new units in the coming expansions or balance nerfs/buffs.

I didn't have to do that since I played brood war and already knew what I would play since I played protoss for 12 years.

I play Terran because I'm no good at anything else. I really enjoy the unit makeup and tech tree of the Terran. I feel like it is a more versatile race for me.

I see that a lot, people saying that terran is lame. Can anyone explain this to me?

I think terran is easy because when you're in bronze and you're playing agaisnt new players, do either a quick marines rush and he'll fall. If he survives, start massing tanks with 3 factory, places them on high ground in siege mode, there's no way he able to counter that, but just to make sure making some vikings, so yeah, T is overpowered, therefore lame.

Especially in the lower tiers like bronze, silver etc the terran bioball (Marine, Marauder & Medivac) is an absolute pain to counter and of course nothing beats turtling in your base with over 9000 siege tanks, missile turrets and stuff and just waiting for the opponent to come a knocking and die.

Bronze league players don't know how to expand or get upgrades, so they just let the terran sit behind their wall the whole game, then they get bored of waiting and run their whole army off 1 base into the mass of tanks overlooking the base ramp, have no money and die.

Zergs play style is different from normal RTS game play, terran is most like any other RTS game.

I dont really do that, but I do like the MMM strat. One thing though that I find, every protoss player I come accross expects something along the lines of what you guys say about a ton of tanks and mass void rays to counter that. Well what counters void rays, mass marines and vikings? The game I won as terran against another terran they sent 6 tanks at me with marines and marauders and he wiped my army out, I had the Marines and marauders and medivacs and those tanks wiped me out, lucky for me I had made 2 Battlecruisers (I think thats the name) and they wiped his army out, on top of that I had already expanded and he had only 1 base with about 20 of my marines and marauders at his front door. He said GG after he lost all his stuff, so yeh I can see how annoying those tanks can be, but not lame or OP imo. I saw this one game 2v2 all protoss, 1 team set up base right in front of the other protoss base and massed photon cannons, essentially walling them in. All of the other teams army died to mass photon cannons, try as they may they fell and eventually ran out of resources and after a few choice words to the other team the left. I think a civ that doesnt even have to make an army just mass those things is lame.

It's a cheese called cannon rushing, it's extremely easy to stop if you see them putting down the pylons/cannons.. just send 4 workers to attack the stuff building, and he's basically screwed if you go and push him since he'll have no units. They build a forge first, so he won't be getting his first unit for a long time, plus he's way behind in teching and minerals. Usually only works in team games, and against new people that don't know whats happening.

If you see it. If you don't scout your base (and it does happen), and the get enough cannons you will get supremely screwed.

It's really easy to say "learn to x" isn't it, but what you seem to completely fail to grasp is the fact that I am a bronze-tier player with no prior experience in Starcraft or BW.
