Guys I have been with EGO nearly two years now and I think it's great I have made many friends and if I knew you guys personally I would be proud to call you all friend's, we have joked and had laughs on the server's together. But today I was offended by an eg who called me a liar for saying I was not born in April 1939 and lived through the London Blitz, he was serious with the accusation. Well I have never lied to you guys and if you dont believe me that's fine, but you have never called me a liar and I was offended today. If at any time you would like to talk to me on Skype I will be more than happy to talk to you. The Skype name is "hazel41" thats my wife's skype and she has her compter next to me.
I was told that no one at ego was over 50 so I think a lot of us got a backhanded compliment.

Mate, to be honest i wouldn't let it bother you - i know it is annoying to have someone make a judgment based on incomplete information, as well as not knowing you personally! Simple truth is that there are always going to be small minded people out there who will make their own minds up, right or wrong. Their loss really. More of an embarrassment really that this could come from someone withing the group. I really hope this is not going to keep you away from the game, would be a shame to not see you in here. And for the individual who decided to question him? Shame...
 
That is quite disrespectful. Someone needs to be spanked. As Mr. Gav said, you should just ignore the ignorant sod, we believe you.
 
Hey London,

I was born in November of 1954. I have a bachelors of science in mechanical engineering. That means the in addition to all the math in grade school and high school I have had training in linear algebra, calculus, differential equations, limit theory... Well the point is with all of that math I still can't work out a way to subtract my birthday from today's date and come up with a number that is less than or equal to fifty years.

I guess the kids now days are taught arithmetic that is more polite than what you and I got. That's progress for you.
 
Well I am an under 50 year old Grandfather (Two granddaughters, 11 and 4!). Now there is some tough math for ya! Like the guys said London, ignore the ignorant ones, they are too young to understand that they arent always right.

+1, without my own kids or grandkids, although I teach kids everyday. I am 55 years smarter than the "Ignorant eG". London, you are the best.
 
The young. They are dumb. They have no experience in the world nor the knowledge. They act ruff so they can be cool and move up the food chain. Out of all the darkness some pull away and become better. Those who got out of the darkness have it always calling them back.

This kid obviously fell back. You do have every right to be offended. You also have to look at the kid and say "Well that's OK that you don't believe me. Your not the one who lived through it." Kids still grow and there still trying to learn and find a place. Don't condemn him just yet. It seems if you mess up once all respect is lost. You just have to fight. Don't Quit yet on us.

Point is Don't think about too much or runaway or that's showing him he won and was right. If you two cross paths again try not to engage in his question because ill bet he will pick at ya just to get you more offended or he came to his senses and apologizes. Always be the better person no matter how mad you get. Some people just like to prevoke.

thats rediculous...what was the point in making such an accusation?...and to say no one in the clan is older than 50 is laughable...my dad is an eGO and is about to turn 55...what an idiot...nuff said...
 
Please don't let it bother you, I am very glad you are part of EGO and am sure most feel the same way...Hell I'm 45 and love this membership and game. Let it go...but I do think that eg needs a talking too..
 
You can't expect everyone to mature even when they are a member, don't let it bother you.

The eg in question is obviously a bit of an r-tard and I wouldn't let it get to you. I'm 46 now and I know 75 % of the people playing are probably younger then me much less you. You know how kids are. All you can do is dominate them in the sewers of kalt and leave them crying for their mommies..................
 
London, I believe you. And I am sorry for the ignorant. I am not "young" but im not "older." I have a kid of my own. If I considered young well some of us are not that dumb. Some of us are respectful and mature. I am sorry what you had to go through. The young generation is just not what it use to be...
 
Hey guys, ease up the r-tard and idiot comments. The eG in question was simply ignorant in his statement. It sounds like one of two things occurred, either he/she was way out of line and thought London was just trying to mess with them, or London took it a bit harder than the eG would have intended and had said it in a joking tone. If the eG simply thought London was just messing with them, and called him a liar in an offhanded manor, it's nothing to call him an r-tard for. He was in the wrong, he was mistaken. He also hasn't had the benefit of playing with London and realizing what a genuine and nice guy he is.

London if anything I would take it more as a compliment. This eG was likely impressed with your play, and couldn't admit to himself that someone born in the 1940s could be cool enough to play DoD and do well. Heck, when I think about it, I know my father couldn't play 1/2 as well as some of you guys, and he's just a baby of 65.

The part about calling you a liar was obviously wrong. Likely the eG was simply in denial that someone of your age could do as well as youngsters on a video game, which is really considered a young man/kids field of expertise (obviously false). Also, the way people throw around liar anymore it's become about as meaningful as someone saying they love cheeseburgers. He was wrong, no doubt, but we know the truth London, and we are all happy you are with us at eGO. No one that has gotten to know you would question honesty or how genuine of a person you are.
