Hey guys, I got some bad news. I don't really even know what to say but here it goes...
As some of you may know, I have a drinking problem. I had a tough past and found relief in it. My kid means the world to me, and was the main reason I stopped. The past few months have been rough between me and my wife, who I also love dearly, so I started back up. It has gotten to the point where its basically an everyday thing, and has not gone unnoticed. In early October I will be moving out west, finding a job, dealing with my problems, and if it comes down to it, submitting myself into detox. I'll bring my laptop but I don't know how active I'll be, or even in the gaming mood. I can hardly play DOD for over a half hour without getting very frustrated now. You guys are like a second family to me, and it means a lot. It actually surprises me how easy it is to write this down for people all around the world to read. In case you were wondering, no, me and my wife are not going to get a divorce. I've known her since high school, she's my best friend. I just need to take a few months to get myself together so neither her nor my kid have to see me in the mess I am. I'll be around for the next couple weeks but will be gone by the 5th. It has been more then a pleasure to sit and get to know you, and knowing there's still a lot more people to meet. I will never ever leave eGO again, so I hope I can keep the tags. God bless.

Good luck man! You are gonna have a hell of a ride but that does not mean you will take the easy way out. Go Hard and over come it!

Good Luck! Wish you only the best and will be happy to see you back here some day.

Hey skippy.. I had a very, very bad drinking problem as well.. Ask iSimon, the only member I've told about it.. Please take the time to read this post, my dude. I'm sure that there are other past or current sufferers on Alcoholism in eGO, but here is my advice and opinion in a nutshell..

I'm going through AA (Alcoholics anonymous) now.. In fact I have a meeting tonight at 8 PM. I try to go 3 times a week at the least, at times, twice. Through that, Friend support, and therapy.. I've been sober for 8 weeks, 5 days.. The last day I had gotten tanked was the day I was thrown in jail, and in front of a judge. I'm not going to even start to get into what I've been through, for it wouldn't be appropriate for the forums.

No. It wasn't a DWI, nor have I ever had one Thank god. (They really REALLY hang you for DWI's in New York)

Point of this post that I hope you read is that your not alone.. It isn't impossible to get better. in this time of new found hope and sobriety I'm more happy than I have ever been.. EVERYTHING is falling into place now, and it will fall into place for you too.

Because of what has happened to me, and the ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE SITUATIONS i've gotten out of, I have become very spiritual. I pray twice a day and attend church every sunday.. as well as many small and significant changes to my life so my guardian angel and god would see the goodness I can do, rather than cracking open a 24 oz at 11 am. Religion, I attribute 50% or more for saving my life.

Add me on Steam if you'd like to talk. I just figured that you knowing another member went through the same hell your going through would make you feel more hopeful, especially now that I'm recovering.

Alcoholism is the devils doing, straight up. There is nothing quite like living in the Hell of an alcoholic.

It always saddens me to read things of this nature as I have gone through similar situations in my life. I know exactly how you feel Skipper. I offer you my best and hope that you can get through this painfull part of life.

I wish you all the best on your recovery. You will know when and if the time is right to game but family always comes first.
Most importantly you now know you have friends who have been down that road and understand in their own way what you may be going through.

eGO will be here, and so will we.

Chuck
