How to do Chin ups... the real way

if thats the right way then ive been doing them all wrong. ill have to start doing them this way now;)
 
Both of those videos show them holding the bar the wrong way. Contrary to popular belief, for maximum and proper performance, as well as less strain on joints/muscles, grip the bar with your palms facing AWAY from you.
 
i thought chin ups were palms facing and pull ups were palms away... is there a difference?

This is true. I worded it kind of wrong. I meant that pull ups are much more effective/less chance of injury. Chinup is more bicep, easier movement. Pullup is more back. Both work both areas, but not huge difference.

Also, due to pressure points in arm, you get better performance from pullup.

I don't think it matters what form he's using, when doing them off a crane :P
