Evga gtx 460 ftw

Enough of this. im ordering the HAWK. IF she blows she blows. Yarg. Then i'll just return it and try another ( brand ) . The return process wont bother me since i have cards everywhere and it wont put me out of game.

Check this out... Would the 675 core card be able to clock higher in the end since its already so low? Or would it be the 800 mhz card which is already up there but with plenty of room as the manufacturer "binned" them .

AFAIK, no 460s are binned. So it's pretty much a crap shoot for any of them. It depends on the cooler, and the amount of voltage tweaking you can do.

Or... I could run to Microcenter and pickup the Gigabyte , if it clocks well then it does . If not, ill return/exchange it.

I don't think I've ever seen someone waffle this much about the maker/model of the GPU. :P
 
The HAWK is made to be the best of the best. It is almost certainly higher binned, because they advertise 1GHz core is possible. If 1GHz core was possible on lower binned cards, then they would advertise it on said cards, but 1GHz isn't possible on MOST 460's. Since MSI uses higher binned chips for its HAWK, they can advertise 1GHz. The cooler alone isn't godly enough to get 1GHz out of a standard 460.

I think we can agree that the HAWK is superior to the FTW/normal 460's
 
I waffle so much about it because there's just so many different ones with diff coolers, clocks, enhancements, etc. IF MC had the ASUS 1 gig , i would have already done that but they only have the stock clock 768 . When i bought my 260 it could not have been easier, EVGA. done.

Almost all cards are reviewed well and only vary in temps and stock/max oc's.

I WANT TO HEAR FROM ACTUAL OWNERS OF THESE CARDS. Not the site reviewing them. I'll just make a poll on who owns a 460 and harass everyone on how its treating them lol.

Oh yeah and as Phobus said, that would need to be a Platinum sample. I can bet on that the sites get better cards than consumers.
 
The hawk will have the best chance at highest OC.

That or the ASUS CuCore
