So ATM Im using a Razer Tarantula :w00t: keyboard. yes but sadly the keyboard is dying :/. Mainly the D key is the problem. (u have to kinda press it harder than other keys at times)

So I've been looking to get the upcoming Razer Blackwidow to replace this one, but lately I've been thinking that the blackwidow isn't worth the time :bored:

Feel like its more of a downgrade compare to the Tarantula. Also been looking at the Lycosa but my main problem with that is it doesn't have dedicated macro keys (like on the Tarantula theres 5 L1 keys and 5 R1 keys on each side that u can bind)

EDIT: Only mechanical keyboards shall be discussed on thy thread.

Umm or you could get this?

Probably $70 cheaper than what your looking at. It does everything your keyboard does, i dont see the problem.

lol. well first it doesn't have dedicated macro keys :/
& I'm more used to big, LED, overpriced, useless features but looks cool keyboards if ya know wut i mean lol

Budget?
The Black Widow is the only Razer keyboard I'd get, mainly because it is a mechanical keyboard, and its the cheapest MX cherry blue switch mechanical keyboard.

dedicated macro keys are my LIFE.
Just makes it a whole lot easier to navigate around & keep the desktop clean

I don't think you understand the amazingness of mechanical switches. They are infinitely better than plastic domes.
But if macro keys are your thing, then just buy like a G110 or G15, then call it good. But you'll eventually get the same problem as your current keyboard, but that wouldn't happen on a mechanical keyboard.

So i guess my best bet is to go with the blackwidow since it is a Mechanical Keyboard with macrokeys

There are other companies that make mechanical keyboards, you know.
Let me look up other keyboards real quick.

Logitech products are very very solid, I use the G11 and love it. Go with the G15 if you want/need the display on your keyboard. Look no further.

Okay, so if you want mechanical switches + macro buttons, yeah, get the Black Widow. Unless you feel like dishing out $2,400 for a Optimus Maximus. lol

I have the Razer Blackwidow, and it's the best keyboard I have ever used. Mechanical switches feel so much better than rubber domes, I can't ever go back to rubber domes. All the "gaming" keyboards that aren't mechanical just look cool, add macro keys, and backlighting, but they are still all using the same kind of switches. People saying, just go with the 20$ keyboard it's the same thing are wrong, there is complete difference between a mechanical and a cheap rubber dome keyboard.

Don't pay for the 130$ version though, 50$ more for backlighting isn't worth it. Only bad thing is the 80$ version is back-ordered till late October, the 130$ version is pushed back to late November. It's completely worth the wait for the 80$ version though.

I saw on the razer site that the ultimate one is backordered till next month... So looks like I'll go for the $80 as planned.

Which are u using? & may i ask how u got it so early :/

I'm using the 80$ version since I never look at the keyboard anyway, and I don't need the extra ports. I preordered the 80$ version they day before it was sold out. On the site it said it was going to ship 10/13 but they shipped mine early I guess. Then the next day I went on the site it said the keyboard has been sold out, then later back-ordered. It's been backordered since like two Fridays ago. They sent mine out that Friday and I got it last Wednesday.

i see. darn i should of pre-ordered mine :/ oh well.
Looks like i'll order mine soon. Thanks

Another thing is, the keys are quite clicky. I personally LOVE the sound, but some people wouldn't. They click since they are the MX blue switches which are clicky and tactile.
