PunkBuster Medal of Honor Issue

Hello,

1.) A friend of me, Isanta, just bought Medal of Honor 2010. And he keeps getting kicked while playing on PunkBuster servers. If he doesnt play on Punkbuster servers he doesnt get kicked. So the problem is punkbuster.

2.)The Next thing we did was reinstall PB, which didnt work. So I overwrote my pb files to his pb files, with teamviewer. So we both have the same files now. He still gets kicked and I dont.

Conclusion: Punkbuster is the problem(1). But it's nothing with the punkbuster files(2). Does somebody know how to solve this problem.

The message is: "you have been kicked from the server" Thats it. nothing more. And admins don't do it, its just an auto kick.

try to update punkbuster manually, I had a similar problem with BC2, did the manual update, works fine.

If you're running this with steam. You'll need to disable the steam overlay. Punkbuster and steam have been having issues since PB updated their systems to detect hacks using the overlay system.

Doesnt work, he has the same files, like i side i'd copied all my files to his computer.
So it has nothing to do with the files, but it has something to do with punkbuster.

Try the auto updater, all you have to do is select what games you want/need to update PB for and then click update

Maybe ports are being blocked that PB needs access too (PB takes screenshots of your screen while you play to help detect cheats). After this us the "Test Punkbuster Service" tool found in the install folder with the punkbuster installer, make sure that punkbuster receives no errors or problems.

Final thing. I've noticed tons of people who play the game THINK they installed the patch that was release shortly after the game was online, but in reality they haven't. Make sure your friend has the latest patch, and if not he is going to have to edit a .xml file inorder to get it.

Copying PB files is not going to make a difference if you two are playing from a different computer, or with different settings.

Are you playing from the same computer or different computers?

From a different computer. Why wouldnt it make any difference? If we both play under windows we both need the same files, right?

Correct. Plus, different security settings, network configuration, game profiles, etc. Punkbuster makes a profile for each computer it's installed on, too.

What I would do is to create the same profile you use on the other computer, and then change your options/settings to be exactly the same as the original profile you created for your computer. See if that works. Have him do the same thing on your computer and see what happens.

Have you tried checking firewall/networking settings yet? Have you removed and reinstalled Punkbuster, or tried doing so with the entire game?

But another case of firewalls causing problems. That's why I don't use one!

Does your friend have ANY history at all of being PB banned from any PB server and any PB supported game for cheating? If so, it is possible that it was streamed to PBBans, and any PB enabled server that streams to PBBans will kick your friend.

If he turns of his firewall or whatever it is called "F-secure" Like I said before, he doesn't get kicked from the servers. And turning your firewall off doesnt mean opening all the ports. So I don't think that's the problem. Thanks tho

If the firewall is the only thing filtering/blocking your ports, then all the ports are opened when the firewall is disabled unless you're behind a NAT device, and even then you can't be too sure.
