It seems like Valve would ban for the use of "Steam Achievement Manager."

I'm still playing.

Steam Achievement Manager, click and there, you have all the achievements you want.

Yeah, you might still be playing NOW but don't get too comfortable. Lots of people have been vac banned for doing what you're suggesting, "hacking" statistical information like achievements and whatnot... Any modification of the game's core files could end up getting you nailed, since that's what cheat apps like wallhacks and such do...

Don't forget about the SourceOP app for idling and everyone that used it, even once... Everyone thought it was working beautifully and all was well, but they all had all their hats and such stripped away from them eventually

Using SAM doesn't alter any of the game files whatsoever. I won't go into details, but all it does is trigger the achievement. SAM has been being used since at least the medic update, and no one has had action taken against them directly for using SAM besides this one case...

Which happened after the scout update. They knew people were doing it because people were literally unlocking all the achievements right after the update was released. The ones who were caught had the three scout items removed for 1 week. I can tell you though that there were plenty who weren't caught though. Just those who unlocked all/most the achievements too fast.

Either way, I'm not condoning nor supporting SAM. It sits on the same level as achievement farming, idling, using this "trick" to get the halloween stuff, etc to me. I just wanted the facts straight.

Valve is sometimes harsh on people that try to get an item in a way that it wasnt meant to be.

There is a tread about this on the Steam forums and it got deleted by the Mods...

Remember the guys that got vac banned for getting the golden wrench by predicting the time of drop?
