When I first started one of the best tips I got was to start a Local Server. You can do this from Opening up Counter-Strike: Source. Then click on Create Server, choose a map like de_dust2, de_dust, cs_office, etc. Then Click on Start! Then when your in the server open up Console with the ~ key. (1). Then when your in there type in, they are in order

• bot_add_ct or bot_add_t (Depending on what team you are on, say you are one CT then type in bot_add_t)
• sv_cheats 1
• bot_dont_shoot 1
• mp_autoteambalance 0
• mp_limitteams 100

Now you can practice on shooting them, they won't shoot back but they will still move! So you can practice doing One Deags, and flick shots with the AK!


(1) If Console does not open up go into Options -> Keyboard -> Advanced -> Click on the Checkbox that says Console. Not fast Weapon switch but the Console one.

I truly think that CSS has one of the steepest learning curves out of any game. When I started learning ( like 5 years ago lol) I went to this noob-only server and I only played CT and I only camped pit with my m4 every round. I literally learned nothing for the first month of this.

Then a friend of mine introduced me to this CEVO (which is a competitive CSS league sorta) deathmatch server. If you really want I can give you the IP address, I still play there often. The players there are reallyyyyy good. It'll be hard at first, but you'll eventually get the hang of it.
