Okay, so I feel as if I'm starting to get fat, which I never was in my whole life. I really need help on what to use to workout and what to eat at school. So first, I want to start off with how should I work out. I want to work out my leg muscles, arm muscles, and abs. I have 2 20 pound weights, 1 25 pound weight, and 2 12 pound weights. How would you recommend working out my leg muscles and abs?

Also, what is the most healthy meal I can buy at school from what I'm going to tell you. I can choose from these meats; ham, turkey, and salami. I can chose from these cheeses; provolone, American cheese, white American cheese. I can choose these toppings; lettuce, onions, tomato, and Jalape?o's. Plus I can get oil and vinegar on it.

If you need more info please ask. I was never really fat but I feel as if I'm getting fat :(

Lifting
For your legs just do straight squats, hold the weights in your hands above your head, or rest them on your shoulders, running helps too. If you want to look ripped work your triceps, hold the weights in your hands, and push back like you are pushing a skiing pole. Biceps, just bench, and pushups. For abs go for reps. Sit down with a weight in your hands, pull your knees up as much as you can, lean back a bit, and then move the weight from side to side slowly, each time you go to the side hit the weight on the ground.

Eating

Go for the turkey, it's probably the most healthy meat, since turkey is like tofu compared to ham(which is extremely fatty) and salami (even more fatty). Go for the provolone, for the same reason as turkey, and its not NEARLY as processed as American cheese. Any of the vegies, or all of them, they don't do much. Now the oil is in question, ask if it is Olive Oil, if it is go for it, Olive Oil has been proven to be extremely good for your body and heart.

Is this what you were looking for?

Yup, thank you so much!

Honestly, if you want to just lose weight and lower your body fat % then for workouts I would just dl p90x and do that. Seriously..it works, and you don't need any fancy machines and such. Only thing is that when they do chin-ups, I just do more push-ups as I don't have a chin-up bar. And you're supposed to do 6 workouts a week..but I just don't have the time for that with uni and all. I usually do 4 workouts a week instead(but I also dont stop after 90 days). for The exercises bokkchoi gave you were good, but your going to plateau out after losing 4 or 5 lbs or so and its going to be tough to lose anymore.

As for food, the main thing is to have no fast food, no junk food, no pop and to stay away from white carbs. White bread, rice, anything with white flour just turns to sugar in your body - try to eat brown bread where ever you can.

EDIT: For p90x you do need an exercise band

Running. It is boring but it builds yours legs and your core. Just go for a run in the mornings (depending if it is warm enough) and start slow and steady and slowly you will get faster and build muscle and lose weight.

Well, here's a bit of personal experience.

In January of 2010, I weighed about 350 lbs and had high blood pressure, high liver enzymes, and terrible health... so I decided to do something about it.

Through running, eating right, and high levels of activity - I went from 350 lbs as of January 18th, 2010 to 235 lbs by May 12, 2010. Since then, I have now lost additional weight and am at 219. My weight loss continues, but it is only a product of making the proper choices, and ultimately living and eating as your body intended. Running is the best exercise you can get, and to me it is fulfilling.

Just my two cents.

I'm not unhealthy as far as I know, but recently my dad was told by the doctor to lose weight and stop eating carbs. No breads, pasta, etc...

The whole family is supporting him and we're doing a "biggest loser" competition. I still don't have too much weight to lose but in college I played soccer and was in much better shape. So I'm counting calories and getting more active, even if it means more free time away from our servers. When I get home from work I walk about 2.5 miles. This literally just started, Monday it kicked my butt.

For me I've never worried too much about what I eat, it is just how active I am. So changing that is the first step.

I also cut back my pop intake. If I didn't love the stuff so much I'd cut it off completely. I only drink 1 pop a day. My usual was 2. Sometimes 3 if I had a can of Ale8one around :)

What is pop you ask? Sorry, pop is the Michigan word for "soda." :P
