I used to get massive lag spikes in my game, usually meaning that any team fight was a one way to ticket to freeze-ville and usually death.
I'm not too sure where it is now, but I was reccomended by the LoL help tech team to set LoL to running on 1 CPU, by changing its affinity.
Ever since I've done that, I've never had lag in a game!
If you're getting lag please try this method; if it works then help spread it around
Step 1: Start the LoL match. As soon as the loading screen starts, you should be able to view the League of Legend application under the process tab in your task manager, the one you want is the one that isn't the Launcher or Client.
Step 2: Click the 'show processes from all users' button on the taskbar. If you don't you wont be able to change the affinity of the application.
Step 3: Right click the process and click, 'Set Affinity.....' option. A box should appear containing two ticked boxes called CPU 0 and CPU 1. Untick one of these boxes, I usually untick CPU 0.
Step 4: close the box and get back to the game! This process should take less than 1 minute once you're used to it.
Please remember that this has to be done each time you want to play the game, though it doesnt have to be done straight away. But why wouldn't you?
Happy gaming!
