In your guys' opinions what is the best gaming mouse on the market? Personally, out of them all I would say the Sidewinder x8, but the Rat 7 is quite high up there too.

I have only used a G9x, and a G500, and the G500 is my fav.

I like the feel of the Rat mice though

cant really stand razer mice

now it isnt really good anymore.

The G500 and G5 have replaced it. They are far better mice

Why? I've heard many people swear by it, but exactly why is it so good?
I started on the 510, had two of those over two 1/2 years. The first one lasted over a year, almost two and the other one about six months but both warrantied and since the 510's were discontinued, I got two 518's free.

Both have been working for the last four years flawlessly. Reaction time has never been a problem. The feeling is great, has all the buttons I want.

hmm... my wireless creative 1200 something worked just fine :D... but they made me sound like arnold O.O

Had the same good ol MX518 for the last 5 years. 2 years prior was a blue MX510.

I never liked the design or weighted feeling much, but I'm just so damn used to it there's no changing now, haha. Wish I could get into a Sidewinder.

Fair enough.

For the record guys I bought a Razer Mamba, and while it is a good mouse, it is not worth its price. Mostly. ;)

If you're going to go for amouse go for the R.A.T. series, don't bother with the 9, it only adds wireless. I use a R.A.T. 3 and besides it looking ugly it is the most comfy mouse I have ever used. R.A.T. 5 is recommended with the added customisations of thumb grip and handle as well as the thumb scroll wheel and the precision aim button. Seriously, for ?43 you won't get anything better.

My favorite gaming mouse has been the Logitech G7. Wireless version of the G5.

However, right now I am using a Logitech G500 and I am pretty happy with it.

I don't know the conversions, so I do not know if I agree with you or not. Assuming however that that is equivelent to $50, I would agree. The x8 is about $70ish I believe, so...

I highly recommend the the G500, as long as you spend a little time with it, the weight balancing really helps with a good FPS. Allot of people like to think they have to put all the weight on, this is far from the truth. you have to find the proper balance to give you a nice glide across your mouse pad but lets you stop on the dime when you want and not to soon. Its very solid and the locking and loose capability of the mouse wheel really helps changing camera and sniping view points.
