Guy's I know we use language every day which we dont class as bad like bastard, bitch, gay, etc. But what you have to consider is some player's can be very offended being called these or just listening to these types of words. I know a lot of admins will ask the user not to use this type of words ingame, I am one of them, I tell the user that some player's are offended with this language and if it keeps happenning I will kick the player.
We play on ego because we respects all player's and I expect all member's to respect all player's. There is a great amount of fun had by our player's without going overboard, our pubs have a good time also and join in the fun, so please remember respect other's.

I also agree... what do you think to stuff like "can we get someone good on the snipers, these guys at the minute 'Blow'..." I know its not offensive language, but it's not nice and can offend the people sniping.. after all they are there to have fun, and by using the sniper they are improving their skills?

A very good point London. Another thing about it is by allowing this language on the server not only confuses pubs about our rules but our new admins as well. A lot of people enjoy playing on our servers because they are clean and G-Rated. If your kid gets a bar of soap for it, so should the pub.

Yes, those are allowed. Some acronyms aren't though.

Here's a snippet of guidance, taken from one of our admin guides:

Swearing

Acronym swearing such as wtf, lmao, fubar, bs, etc are ALLOWED. The exceptions are : STFU and GTFO because they are usually directed at someone in a disrespectful way.

I shall undoubtedly be corrected if I am wrong, but yes, that's fine. Just remember that there is a big difference from a bind that says "Watch your language" and one that says "Please keep language clean. eGO servers are rated PG!"

I seem to recall that the use of binds for admin is discouraged by some divisions. One problem is that if you accidentally press the bind key when no one is using bad language it can cause confusion. Better to take the time to type it out. Personalize it and keep it friendly. It means more that way.

I agree with you Blitz, but i also think that each scenario depends on the context. I think i am known for using colorful words like: chump, chumpette, and jerkface. However, i only use these terms of endearment on members who know me and who know i dont mean to insult them.
