Why crates/keys are the most stupid thing Valve has ever done

Wow! I got one Festive Crate. I joined in the festivities and bought one Festive Key. I festively used my Festive Key to unlock my Festive Crate and I got the Industrial Festivizer. I was feeling pretty festive about it too until I saw this festive video clip. Now I'm thinking I festively beat the festive odds and should probably avoid such festivities in the future.

The title is wrong... it should be titled "Why buying keys for crates is the most stupid thing a player can do."

Valve does not force you to spend extra money on the game. People are choosing to.

I have yet to spend an extra cent on the game and I have just as much fun as those who spend hundreds.

You, good sir, just won everything.

Everything

Everrrrrryyyyyyyyyt... ok, you get the idea ;)

Up next, post a video of people who have bought lottery tickets for years and don't have a thing to show for them, not even silly virtual items.

At least excess lottery money goes to schools, police officers, fire fighters, etc.

I would rather have that on my conscious than a silly virtual item that's value is less than what is on the bottom of my shoe.

The problem here is that you need to PAY to open HOLIDAY crates. Ridiculous really- festive crates should be openable by all, without keys.

Pretty much this, Valve promised a way to open holiday crates in the future. It turn out to be... buying keys like normal crates.

So buy map stamps and feel good. Or don't buy anything and feel better.

I believe you but can I see a source? I don't really keep track of TF2 stuff, I just play the game.

Item description: This crate is unusually festive. Its contents are unknown and normal keys don't fit the lock. You'd better hold onto it. There'll probably be a way to open it later.

Ah yes. I do remember this. And they provided a way to open it... ah well.

I already payed to get the game. I will not pay more to get things that are festive.
