Hi guys!

So recently my 8800GTX died after only 6 months of use... So i am in the market for a new GPU for my desktop, my budget is ?150(GBP) which is not a lot, but heck im a student so i have an excuse! I've been looking at a 460OC edition for a while which was priced at ?145, i also look at buying a non-oc edition and ocing it myself however it was more expensive for some strange reason! tho the OC edition was on sale, My board is an AMD board with dual pci-e 16x slots, inside a Antec 900 case! I am not fussy about which brand (ATI or Nvidia) it is as long as i get the best possible performance/cost ratio! :)

Thanks for reading! :)

Prefered Shopping site?

I'm going to guess that that is about $180 (stuff is more expensive in UK) USD, which puts you about in the GTX 460 or AMD 6850 range

I'm curious as to why you only started using an 8800GTX 6 months ago lol.

Me too. I got one of those cards 4 years ago. It was a fantastic card, but by today's standards, it's out of it's league. Hot and heavy.

It would seem that the GTX 460 is the card for you. :)

150 pounds is closer to $230 USD, but I'm not sure about prices over there. Still, to the OP, a preferred site is definitely needed.

yes, but since they(you?) get shafted over there, GTX 460's can cost $250+

I decided to go with the 460GTX - The reason i had the 8800GTX was because i found it cheap and also my friend told me how good it was, before i used the GTX i had the GT. I managed to get the 1GB 460GTX OC edition for ?152. It will arrive on the 4th :)

Thanks for the help!
