temps were approximately -50c. I don't own a thermometer capable of reading that low, so i can't say for sure.

Those volts are decent. If i ran this chip on air at those volts, it would probably die within hours if not minutes.

1.45v is fatal for clarkdale CPUs on air, so i am kinda pushing it.
 
It seems like it's pretty worth it though, just god forbid something goes wrong with the cooling somehow. D;

This seems like a costly/high-maintenance setup, right? I am probably wrong, seeing as I know zilch about where to even begin with it. lol

It is stable for about 15 minutes under light load. Just enough time to run SuperPi 32m.

If you wanted to run this as a daily rig, you would have to spend a crapton on dry ice, and constantly maintain the dry ice level in the rig.

Not to mention if you ran it too long, you insulation would break down, and condensation would kill your board.

It is very expensive, not counting the computer it self, i spent about $300 on this.

It's been done, check this out. Granted its a P4 processor, but still if you could apply that to current CPUs, then that'd be GG.

Well, yeah I know it's possible. Doesn't mean it's not stupid to mess around with that crap in a house.

What are the potential long term issues with putting your computer in vegetable oil? Other than voiding your warranty on your hardware.

I'm thinking of doing this to make my computer silent.

Upgrading/taking out hardware would be a pain. Fans would die quicker (you'd still need fans, and they're need to power through vegetable oil)
If you really want silent computing, you'd need to sacrifice some power. Passive coolers, low dba fans, etc. It's not cheap. And the more power you want, the more expensive it gets.
