So i've been using this old quad core for quite some time, I don't have the money to upgrade it and it gets quite hot in my room so I was thinking about changing to the Stock cooler to something better, I cannot post any temps at the moment because I am 130 miles away from my desktop however it does get quite hot. Now, I am using an Antec 900 case with that giant fan on top and i was wondering what would be the best cooler to get for the 9750? Is it worth overclocking etc? :)

Had it as well. Amazing cooler for the price.

Newegg also has the clone 120mm fan, for a push pull setup.

Edit: Make sure your case has enough room, because those copper pipes stick out quite a bit.

Whats your budget?

A dude on OCN ( overclock.net ) is sellling a corsair H50 for 40 euros shipped and it comes with all stuff like mounting brackets plus another Corsair fan for push/pull.

Pretty good deal

He only ships to the UK though so if you live there your lucky =/
 
Just tested out my 4ghz overclock and stability and i get around 70c prim95 on the hottest core with 1.35v vcore. My D0 is not one of the better ones but at least it easily hits 4ghz still and i have my NH-D14 to cool it off =). I could probably fine tune it more but i don't wanna spend anymore time doing so haha, im only gonna run 4ghz when i play bad company 2 or some benches.

The cores are really uneven tho, its 70c, 67, 67, 63.

Everyday use will probably be my 3.6ghz all auto settings with like 50 something load temps.
 
Fortunately or unfortunately i am from the UK, which means i can't use Newegg or tigerdirect! D:

My plan is to change the stock heatsink which something more powerful, then a monitor the temps as both idle and load then decide whether or not to overclock it, I've been reading about overclocking the 9750 and there isn't much room for an Overclock considering it isn't a black edition therefore i think it will be a bit more tricky, my goal is to get from 2.4Ghz to 3.0Ghz! :) I have quite a bit of room around the processor socket so i am not really worried about space, If needed i can move my new GPU down a slot and try to do a bit better with my cable management! I will post some screens of my rig once i get back down to it! :)

Yeah, my cores are unevenly temped like that, too. But only when I run IBT or P95. When I play Black Ops, it barely pushes 50C on each core.

Correct me if i am wrong please, but is the H50 a standalone cooling system that does not require the additional components of a water-cooling set up?

I found this on this forum somewhere, some guy has the H50 set up in the Antec 900! However my cable management skills need another go as I have quite a few cables all over the place. I do not have the tools to make holes in the MB where my desktop is unfortunately =[

If i was to buy the H50 (Seriously considering) would i also benefit from fitting a fan to the side door of the case? if so what should it be? taking in air or pushing it out? I will be running a single 460GTX! :)

Might i add, I am receiving the Gigabyte version of the 460GTX with two fans on the GPU.

If you want the h50 to cool better you need to add another fan to the radiator. Adding a fan to the side panel only helps the temps inside your case. It would benefit your gpu but not the cpu as much since your using a all in one water cooling solution, it will help a little I guess though. The ram cooler would only benefit your ram but you don't really bed it unless your overclocking your ram a lot

The GPU comes with dual-fans on it, so i doubt i'll have to worry about that too much, With the H50 what extra fan will i need to buy to add to the radiator, I already have a 120mm on the back of the case positioned like in the above picture. :)
