The Arc Touch Mouse by Microsoft: Latest Innovation for Portable Mice

Packshot_ArcTouch_Front.jpg

This is GravigA and i will be telling what i think about Microsoft's new mouse in the Arc series: the Arc Touch

Introduction

The Arc Touch is the updated version of the Arc Mouse that was simply a mouse with a palm rest the folded to the front of the mouse.

However, this updated version or rather evolution of the Arc mouse is very different from its prequel in terms of appearance, compactness, and features.

In terms of aesthetics, the Arc Touch tends to give out an aura of sophistication and simplicity with enough tech for Optimus to say: "There is more than meets the eye."

For people that want something slim, compact and yet impressive to show off in terms of style and uniqueness, this mouse conquers all.

A few quick note before the main review: There is glossy plastic that covers the front part of the mouse, but all it takes is a few wipes of a cloth to look slim and slick.

Mouse Features:
  • slim compact design
  • simplicity at the best
  • touch scroll "wheel" pad
  • FOLDING

Mouse Buttons:
two normal click left and right buttons. Nothing much.

Mouse MEGA Features:
  • the first mega feature is obviously the folding mechanism. For me, having a smallest of mouses (back then) meant having a fat bulge seen from your backpack, pocket, and dreadedly: The Laptop Case. Honestly having to carry a laptop plug in charger fattens the case enough, and having a mouse that is about 1 to 2 inches simply makes your case obese. However, Microsoft has solved this problem by making the mouse flat. By curving the mouse to rise about an inch high, the mouse gives a nice comfortable feel even for a 6' college hands with large hands (ME).
  • Oh, did i say its flat?
  • the second mega feature would be Touch Scroll Pad. Due to design conflictions of providing a classic wheel to this mouse, Microsoft opted for the popular "Touch" craze and provides a handy dandy touch pad for happy scrollers on the interwebs. One, one can flick one's finger up or down and the mouse emanates a sound like a roulette, slowly clicking to a stop without the finger furiously rubbing up and down. (Hehe, Derp)
  • part two of two is that the touch pad also has some nifty "touch" features. By double tapping the middle of the mouse, the user is able to auto scroll by moving the mouse curser around a cross, moving towards the direction.

Pros:
  • slim and compact
  • streamlined (to my tastes anyways)
  • futuristics, innovative
  • touch scroll pad
  • sturdy design (despite appearance
  • curl/fold mechanism
  • did i say flat already?
  • works on concrete, wood, plastic, and even bed sheets, what more can you ask for a mouse?

Cons:
  • no fwd or bwd thumb buttons (aw)
  • somewhat feels empty without a wheel, but i wanted flatness

Overall Rating: 10/10

BRO Rating: Broseph Brocket piercing the Brozone!

Last Minute Notes:
Honestly, this is not a mouse for gamers. This mouse was solely created for the sake of portability and compactness. No hating on the mouse for reasons that it wasnt created for please! It means no harm!

Happy Gaming Edgegamers and keep in mind that if you need a mouse that would surprise your friends during a study session or business meet, this mouse will guerilla their eyes with a folding demise! (Ka-dunk)

Two things:

1. How many settings can the curve be set to? Is it just flat and curved? Or can individual users change the height to fit their grip and still keep it solid in their hand?

2. It's a nice review, but you should really proof-read. It's not so much typos as repeated words. "6' college hands with large hands (ME)" For instance, that says that you're a college hands with large hands.

Too bad I've never had a portable laptop, otherwise that would've come in handy. I hate those touch pads.

i actually wrote this in a hurry since i had to study for mid-terms.

But basically theres only one set height for the mouse.
In other words, they made it so 'one size fits all'

And i will correct my mistakes, but i got a midterm to study for and a Mount Olympus of homework next to me.

So make it in Google Docs, then publish it once it's ready and error free. That's usually what I do for my reviews.
