Because I can, I'll post all the stuff I write up, some reposts may occur here but whatever.

A DOD:S Realism Story:North, West, South and East idea
----------------------------------
South
------
In the south, there was mainly Stuff, which was the force of the unknown. All that was known by the usual peasent about Stuff was that there was a lot of it, and it was powerful. Stuff is also known by it's proper name, which was Massive Aerial Guide for Irrelevant Cannons. The irrelevant cannons were notably what the people known as Sy-en-tysts from the north called Physics, which ran around like loose cannons. Generating the name. It was mostly used by it's acronym. Which was MAGIC. It is often not spelled out letter by letter and is said as 'magic' in most cases.
The main city of the south is Augoroth, a city leaking vast quantities of Stuff at a constant rate. The reason for this is that the inhabitants of the city had discovered a way to bind Stuff into solid objects, the objects created were called WhyzardStones. The high density of Stuff in the stones was enough to make the Wizards be able to concentrate their powers in using Stuff even better. It also allowed idiots- ahem, normal people to use magic when they shouldn't be able to. The city is covered by a thick layer of blue smoke, through which it is impossible to see the end of a street on the beginning of that street on the ground; you can only see the tips of the the tallest buildings from afar or from the air, most noticable is the Tower Of Wizardry, a building that you can see only the middle of. It is around two miles high and the bottom part is lost in the blue smoke and the top part is lost in the clouds.
The smoke is created by the WyzardStone factories that spend all day sucking in Stuff and pushing it together into a powder. The powder is then charged with a Stuff field by a Tier 42 or above wizard, the particles connect to eachother to form a rough, golden stone that leaks out bright light. It is then grinded down using massive stones that rub away at it until finally a golden sphere is left behind. The grinding profess creates the smoke, it's harmless, but it's hard to get rid of and very annoying.
The Tower Of Wizardry rises two miles high as said before, there is always a supply of orbiting golden light trails around it that make up a shining field. It is made of concentrated Stuff and is a marker that the WyzardStones do not need to be used within it's walls to be a wizard. The better Wizards despise the stones, even the Tier 100 Master Of Wizardry Arnelius hates them. The Tiers in the tower are from 0-99, the lowest level meaning no magical talent and the highest being able to utilise magic to the highest degree. The single Tier 100 wizard is an unusual case, if his Tier was to be on Tier skill difference which is the case from 0-99, he would be past the 200s. But seeing as noone has breached the level except him it was made simple and he sits at Tier 100.
The city has rather damp and cold climate, it is ruled by King Avate the 3rd and is placed on the coast of the southern continent, meaning the massive arrays of docks that it holds are put to good use, containing exotic boats with a light blue and white theme; they are usually built out of wood, though Tier 90 and above wizards have been known to create incredibly fast ones out of glass. The warships are not quite so heavily armored as they could be, seeing as they are made of wood, but they host a variety of magical weapons. The most common weapon would be the Hell Bringer Cannon, it was built by a Tier 33 wizard and fires a flaming cannonball that explodes on contact.
East
----
The eastern continent is quite a difficult one to describe, it is not devoid of Stuff but it contains only a weak field throughout the continent. The main population of the continent is warriors, barbarians and heroes. This leads to alot of war and towns being wiped off the map with very little notice, thus the only map that is useful if you plan going there only has one location. The location of mention is the capital city itself, by the name of Ubah-Klasp. The city is a dangerous place to live, especially at night. The saying is "When you are too tired to lift your sword any more, your life is over" in the city.
There are many guilds inside the city, most notably the Heroes Guild seeing that it is impossible to find a Herods Guild anywhere else in the world. The Heroes themselves are little more than glorified mercenaries, known for being able to use magic to the degree of a Tier 15 wizard while removing your entrails with an abnormally large sword. They are horribly expensive too, the amateur ones without even a horse will cost you around 25,000 Kroins for a job on average, varying on the job. The most expensive Heroes such as one riding a black dragon with a magic talking sword will cost you millions.
The continent is rather warm and dry, the water is pumped out of the ground, they have no official leader, but everyone obeys Lord Veneri, probably because he owns a castle, keeps dragons as pets and has an armory of rare weapons, including one that had supposedly been given to him by one of the Gods himself. The ships are red and black painted, the ships are relatively well armored with iron plating over the wood and boast large cannons that tear apart ships at close range yet fall short on long range. They also have a flagship, it goes by the name of "The Eye Of Hell" and contains no cannons. Instead it holds massive rooms inside it and a large runway, it launches dragons which pick off ships from the air.
North
------
The northern continent, even being the smallest continent and the least populated continent, is said to have a higher cumulative IQ than the other continents combined. They have a large amount of what they call Sy-en-tists, which are people who spend all day in lab-oh-rah-towies messing about with the raw materials of the universe. But not Stuff. The continent is devoid of Stuff except in artificially generated areas.
The main discoveries on the continent were famed because they were stolen and produced across the world. Such as Gunpowder and Click Towers. Click Towers were a simple idea, build machines that would send messages along a wire string hooked up to two modified typewriters. One for sending a message, another for receiving and writing down the message, it allowed for near instant communications.
They weren't one bit pleased about their inventions being stolen and so they had cut off relations with the eastern and the western continent. The south continent was able to contact and trade with them because of the vast research going on about Stuff over there.
The continent is cold and dry, they no longer use pumps and instead rely on machines that create water from the air and some of the wierd blue gas that they import from Augoroth, it may sound mad but once the traders noticed what they were willing to pay for leftover gas they quickly purchased compressors and gas tanks, gleaming in their copper finish.
Their ships are fast and small, they focus the power of the sun to set the enemies boats on fire though the use of mirrors turned by slaves across the boat to focus light onto the backs of the cannons which projects it into a small, deadly beam of white light. The ships are painted silver and white and are coated in steel plating, making them able to take quite a bit of cannon fire.
There is no ruler in this land, there is a democracy, people vote for wars and taxes etc.
West
-----
The western continent creates marvels with machinery, having mastered the creation of the steam engine around 200 years ago, they had built vast steam powered contraptions, fueled by the unusual replenishing coal pit, of which refills every day with coal due to an ancient Stuff field set there around a thousand years ago by one of the most powerful wizards who was sick of not having enough coal for his fireplace after retiring to the west.
The steam car is a new sight, a personal transport unit that you could drive without any tracks, it'd set you back 30,000 Kroins but it's worth it when you can hit a mighty 60 miles per hour without a train. A relatively new invention was the first air vehicle on the world, it could carry up to 4 people in comfy seats and had a range of 5,000 miles. It could hit mind warping speeds of 160 miles per hour. There was supposedly a larger one in creation that could carry 40 people with their things from one place to the other at 200 miles per hour!
The ships, land vehicles and airplanes were painted a dark bronze colour, some pieces were painted red on them as well. The vehicles utilise steam engines propelling wheels, legs and paddles to make them move along. The usage of steam allows them to move against the wind and hit unusually large speeds. The weapons vary, they are mostly versions of steam cannons, though. Steam cannons use a large amount of steam that is placed on valve on the projectile, when it is launched it let's loose the steam, propelling it in a very straight line, unlike other cannons. The ships are protected by massive iron plates bridging across them.
There is a warm, wet climate in the continent, the ruler as such of the continent is Master Engineer Cornelius Fleck. The nation witholds itself to itself, it is not even known of by the other nations, it is often called a myth.
The people who live in the west are devoid of Stuff, it had all been used up thousands of years ago by some rather dumb wizards that cared not for preserving Stuff for other people.
I'll go bring up a few more things I've written.DoD Realism
So I lay there, deep in the undergrowth that hid me from the sky above me. For I was afraid amongst my comrades, as they were too. My BAR was held close to me, on its last clip and half of the bullets in that clip were already squandered on the treacherous enemies. With already a bullet wound in me, I began to crawl away from the bodies and back towards our last flag. Rounds were screaming over my head as I approached my base, yelling at our machine gunner not to shoot me. He gave a shaky nod and let me crouch behind the sandbags, indeed weakened. I rested there a while, until the assault came.
The machinegun fire came screeching back into action, the bullets pounding into walls as the operator attempted to control it, even in its mounted state. By then I had already used all my medical kits to cover up my wounds. There was a yell and a thud as the machinegun operator next to me hit the ground, blood seeping from his head. Clearly a sniper had picked him off. I scrambled for his weapon, scrambling over his body, unnaturally cold now as I put my hand around the firearm. I tried to lift it first with one hand, but it proved too heavy. With the second hand I hoisted off the ground and into my arms, I stood up to face the opposition.
In front of me was Sumac, gripping a STG-44 hard in his hands and whirling it towards me with extreme precision. I had no choice but to simply fire the weapon, not knowing what the outcome would be. The bullets rippled through the air and a few hit him, knocking him to the ground with a heavy bang, seeming incredibly loud to me. I dropped my weapon in shock a second later and dived back behind the sandbags, now left with an empty pistol and my hands. So I jumped over the sandbags in a hurry and grabbed the STG-44, quickly moving to another row of sandbags where the fighting was not as dense.
There was more people hurrying out of our arrival grounds, tomi87 and BL4SPH3MY ran out at my side, these were veterans, not recruits like me. I was surprised they even noticed me, even more shocked when they told me to come with them. I was thrown an ammunition case, I caught it and ran after them, hurrying to drop the last clip and load in another from the case. We stormed through a colossal hole in a rather damaged house and entered the building; tomi87 quickly shot the only opponent with a burst from his rather new Thompson SMG. The main entrance of the building lead to a flag directly in front of it, captured by the Wehrmacht.
I was quite startled in excitement and sprinted towards it, only to see tomi87 get into the doorway and block my path instantly. He shook his head and threw a grenade onto the flag, pushing me away from the doorway as yells and calls came in German as the grenade detonated. We rushed out as soon as it had gone off, quickly mobilising to dispatch the Wehrmacht soldiers outside. There was a retreating machinegun operator; if tomi87 had not stopped me he would have killed me instantly. In my rage I opened fire with my STG-44 on the fleeing man, hitting him in the back and knocking him to the floor
.
Tomi87 and BL4SPH3MY had each taken out an enemy apiece, though BL4SPH3MY had picked up a live enemy grenade and was starting to throw it away. He had no idea how long it was going to last, unfortunately for him that was his fatal flaw. It detonated in his hand, causing him to hit the floor and cough as the shrapnel dug into his chest, tomi87 simply walked over to him and shot him, putting him out of his pain with a grim look on his face. He turned me away and we began to move out again, there would not be peace until the Wehrmacht was destroyed. He tore off the Wehrmacht flag from the flagpole, slipping on an Allied flag from his backpack before moving on in a hurry.
There was another flag atop a ruined tank, it was our next objective and no Wehrmacht soldiers were in view, they had run off to take our first point and were not aware that we would be assaulting this one. We ran into position and tom87 repeated the action with the flag, clambering off the top of the tank and giving me thumbs up. He ran off towards the Wehrmacht’s second flag, and then a massive boom rippled through the air, vibrating and causing tomi87 to fall. I whirled around to where the noise was coming from, a sniper slowly loading another bullet into the rifle chamber; I gave a yell of pure rage and unleashed my entire clip into him. The murderer fell, and I was alone.
Their second flag was in sight, I took it using the action tomi87 had done on the other two flags without any trouble, but then footsteps appeared around the other flag; a Wehrmacht soldier ran out and unleashed a spray of bullets at me. I fell back and appeared dead, yet I was not, not yet. As the soldier came towards me to check if I was alive, I pulled out my knife and jumped up at him, plunging it into him and dropping him to the ground. My weapon was lost, and his was broken in the fall. The only thing he had of use on him was a grenade. More footsteps got louder and began coming closer to me.
It was an act of heroism; I pulled the pin from the Wehrmacht grenade and ran around the corner, throwing it onto the floor in front of around six soldiers. It was directly under the flagpole. I swapped the flag for ours and held there a moment, bullets punching through my body. I fell as the grenade detonated, killing the enemy soldiers and winning us this land, it was a brave conquer, and one that would be remembered.
