LoL vs BLC

Is it just me or... Did anyone else notice a high rate of people switching from LoL to BLC (Bloodline Champions)?

-> on CLG (Counter Logic Gaming)
-> on SoloMid.net
-> on other gaming forums

At least 5 High Elo players have "stopped" playing LoL
and at least 20 have been playing both games

Why now? hasn't BLC been out for a while?
 
Some youtube people have said some good things about it. And since its a free game to play some people are playing it. I'm sure it will pass, and if those players go then let them. Better chance to get to a higher spot.
 
I think its because BLC is now out of Beta.
Plus, more and more people are just now discovering it since there have been recent YouTube videos posted from highly subscribed channels.

I myself now play it, and I must admit it is much more fast-paced than LoL.
But, I don't like the fact of how limited your options are. You can't "build" your character throughout the game to counter the other players accordingly. There isn't really any team-based strategy you can do since the game feels "too fast."
One thing that truely upsets me the most about the game is that each Bloodline (character/champion) is the same price, there isn't a single price difference.

Overall I still enjoy the game since it has a faster pace than LoL. Being a free game also keeps me playing it, I love having a variety of games to play.
 
It is a fun diversion for a bit, but ultimately there isn't as much variation as in League of Legends and the characters take a ton of time to earn without buying them with real money. More time than a 6300 champion, and all are priced the same.

Agreed (right click vent and hit "run as administrator")

I had recently downloaded the game and thought it was fairly good, th major turning point that threw me off was the MM Match Making system...)First time, Solo Queued for a ranked 3v3 and ended up getting a grade 13, grade 6 and a grade 1 on the other team, vs me and two Grade 4's.

(Rephrased for all you non-BLCers out there) The MM system does not look at your lv status at all. But on when(in terms of time) you Queued up, and then puts you into a "champion select" then players there are then auto balanced in terms of ratio. If you won 1 game and lost none, your ratio is 100%. So think about it. )

No mater how good you get into the game, it is possible to get into a game where you have a team mate who only in total has won 1 game in his life, and has no clue what he is doing.

Other than that, i found the game to be rather fun, and it is VERY fast paced compared to LoL and ever skill is a skill shot so, it makes the game less boring to play repetitive matches.

But, I am going back to LoL :laugh:

In ranked that have a single draft so in essence you can counter with picks. There isn't any team-based strategy? Have you watched any pro play? This game has as much if not more strategy involved then LoL. BLC is all about when to pressure and how to use your abilities to do so. Most Bloodlines have their space to escape when some one starts tunneling them. So on both sides you have to try to reserve your escape while pressuring the other team. You can't over extend from your healer and you can't just run in unless you want to lose. You have to fight as a team and focus one person or pressure one then the other and just widdle their health down due to the heal cap.

Not sure when you tried to solo que but every month they have a ladder reset. So basically it puts all of the pros back so square one on the ladders this way some one can't just pwn and get #1 and stop playing. Also once you gain a grade you can never lose one so its actually quite a good system personally. Maybe try now and the MM will be more balanced


BLC is A LOT of fun and Isn't even on the same spectrum as LoL. If your going to relate it to anything relate it to WoW arena but way harder and a lot more fun.

Its not just me, the MM system in BLC gives NO restrictions to who you are gonna get paired up with, there is no measure of player skill, grade is basically how much time you spend into the game, its just like LoL's Level System. The difference is, if you win a lot, your ELO goes up, if you lose a lot, your ELO goes down. And with the ELO # value you will be paired up with people within your "skill level" or ELO.

In BLC, no matter your level or grade, or # of wins; you have a chance to get paired up with people who are horrible and a chance to get people who spend their life into the game. There is no real "Group" you belong to.

On the other hand, i agree with you with the fact that BLC should not be compared ( In terms of Game Play) to LoL, since the games are completely different and are intended to be played much differently.

Hate to say it but your wrong. You should open the game and look at the Knowledge base because it tells you how the grade system works. based on your average score in different game mods (2v2, 3v3, Solo, customs) Each one has a certain amount of score if you reach you will gain a grade. So the MM system is based off score. The reason you're qing with people that are higher/lower grade is because the score resets every month but you don't lose your grade.
