the other day i decided to try idle item farming on an idle server. i laid down some stickies to kill myself in the morning and when i checked my comp in the morning they were gone and when i killed myself i got no weps. can someone explain to me wat happened. (no i did not use up my max drops)

Well since now the drop rate it totally random, idling is less useful and will result in less items then when just playing the game. My opinion, stop idling and just enjoy the game and wait for items.

Personally, STOP idling and start fraggin on our servers!!!

+1

Gunna' have to agree there

Plus Valve caught on and took measures to even the drop rate between people who are in game a lot (idlers, people with no lives) and the casual player (people who have girlfriends). Idling does little to NOTHING now that they changed the drop parameters.

You probably used up your max drops
Or someone came and stole your weapons while you were sleaping

Probably used up all your drops, like mrcool said.

You are limited to receiving items for up to the first 11 hours of the week (starting at about 7:30pm EST, Wednesday). Any more than that, and you won't be receiving anything.

Your previous week's hours will stack onto the next week's if you don't use them, up to 22 hours in total of drop time.

The more you know!

well i tried this 2 days ago and tried it again and i ended up getting 8 items and a hat so wat do u have to say about that?

Back before they did anything at all for idling (cap drops etc.) there were times you got nothing at all, just the way it goes. And so you know drops seem better to me not idling then when I did idle.

As it is now, until you hit your limit, you receive one item every 15-75 minutes approximately.

Idling is for losers.

Or for those with more than one account. Though I'm sure some will argue that those people are losers.

Anyway, you can just visit the Manne Co. Store to get your drops instead of dying. It works for me because I idle in spectator.

I used to idle in the training map with text mode. It's pretty useless now though :(
