Motherboard Back Panel/Headset Question

Ok everyone

I have this motherboard

and I have this Bose surround sound

During tax season, I completely rebuilt my computer and bought this fancy surround sound all at once.

The only problem I am having is the back panel doesn't seem to be working. I cannot seem to get my headset to work back there. Before anyone suggests front panel, it is completely disabled. I don't even have it plugged it because it stopped working. I am debating on buying a new case but that is a whole different story.

This is the first time I have had speakers that plug in USB. So I am not sure if that is the deal. I have re-downloaded and re-installed the drivers many times

Whats weird is I have Realtek Audio Manager for anyone else that has it and the audio manager doesn't have the back panel lit up at all. I am getting the feeling it isn't recognizing the back panel at all and I don't know why. I tried unplugging surround system and just using the onboard sound, which in the sound device I can see onboard sound pushing through, but the headset and back panel is still not working.
I have two headsets that work perfectly fine on my laptop so I know they are working properly. Yes I check for switches on the headsets as well lol.

I seriously have no idea, but it is bothering me because I haven't been able to talk in vent since I built this pc.

Any suggestions?
 
What GPU do you have?

When i install nvidia drivers, it disables my motherboard sound.
 
Yea, both companies have audio processors on their video cards now, so sometimes that messes with onboard sound.

If someone doesn't suggest a different solution, might want to try uninstalling just the audio driver from CCC.
 
hrmm I wonder if I am going to need to uninstall all the drivers. Not seeing an option to delete just the audio drivers.
 
if you go to control panel>programs>ATi install manager>change>uninstall>custom

it should let you just uninstall the audio part.
 
If that doesn't work I'd suggest getting rid of the realttek bs program/drivers that you installed. I had to do that to get my sound to work on my current build.
 
@Reflex - The custom options have the audio unselectable....weird
@Pojih - I'm not understanding how getting rid of realtek drivers helped you because those are the motherboard drivers themselves?

Unless the motherboard ports in the back read from the CCC drivers. I guess that is possible lol. I will try it out. Not like it difficult to reinstall lol!
 
Also you can try going into the bios and setting the onboard audio to enabled rather than auto. When it is set to auto and detects the audio device on the video card it assumes it is not needed and turns off. So, setting it to enabled will fix your problem and you can keep your realtec audio manager AND keep the hdmi audio on the gfx card on as well.

Didn't see anything in the BIOS for it :(. I saw options for front panel audio, and the hdmi audio on the gfx card, but nothing for onboard? Weird. I looked through everything like three times. I am so confused lol.
 
Okay, go to advanced in the bios then to Onboard Devices Configuration then you see where it says HDAudio Controller, next to that select Enabled Then where it says Front Panel Select, next to that select HD Audio (yes i know you don't have them hooked up presently)

That is how the BIOS had it setup by default :(
 
Yes Realtek drivers show up in my device manager. My speakers are USB. They are the Bose Companion 5 Surround System

derp. USB speakers=they do not use the realtek drivers. Install the Bose drivers.

I have those installed too. The problem is that this Bose system doesn't have a mic port only a headset port. Kinda weird. So I figured I still needed the realtek drivers for the motherboard to use the back panel mic port. Nothing seems to be working though.
