Same here, just drill the hole and string it through.

Anyways,
What's your budget on a new card chili?

Also, what results do you get if you place the computer on the same floor?

I went thru a bunch of wireless cards trying to find a decent one.

Long story short, they don't exist.

Either hardwire Ethernet, or look into Ethernet thru power systems.

If your gonna do it you might as well do it right in my opinion, this is how I would do it. Get half inch to quarter inch conduits and run it from the two rooms to a central point through the wall cavity's (probably in your garage,) so you can run wires from room to room using this conduit in the future. Get a pipe snake once conduits are placed and ready to go and run it through, hook a string to pull a wire through with once it is through the conduit. Pull the string through, then pull the wires through, and MAGIC you have your magical Ethernet cable running to the desired place, and you can run wires to those room again easily if needed.

If your crazy like my family you put your mode, network hubs, and cable amplifiers/splitters all out in the garage with these conduits to feed your rooms.

I agree with Reflex.

Wireless internet is not designed for gaming. No matter how powerful a wireless router/adaptor you buy.

Wireless internet is designed like an umbrella, where its better to be under the umbrella, whereas being above it, you might get some ping issues. Might be good for internet surfing, but besides that, it isn't all that good for gaming. I will have to agree with everyone else, go wired or move your computer
