BC2 Latency Issue

I haven't been able to play BC2 since I bought the game because my ping is consistently too high for the game to run smoothly. I have played other games since then and BC2 is the only game that does this to me.

Has anyone else come across this problem and is there a fix for it? Any help or ideas would be most appreciated.

I kind of had the same issue. Normally when I play on the eGO servers I would get a 100 ping. Lately Im getting a 180 ping which is very high for me. I did some port forwarding and that helped me a little.

BC2 ping is your internet connection plus your rig's performance. If you have a not-so-hot computer, your ping will be high.

If my computer has been running for a day or so, then I find I get about 250-300 ping in most servers.
I restart my computer and it is a lot better. Another thing I often find useful for games is to run a program that will turn off unnecessary services / etc on my computer.

After all this, my ping is usually ~100.

I have a wireless router, but my rig is hardwired to the router so I don't think that would effect my latency, but I could be wrong.
