One minute lag spikes?

Hey, wondering if anyone can help me with this. When in-game, I get a quick 2 or 3 second lag spike exactly every minute. I've watched the in-game clock, at it's right on the button every time. It's been happening for a few months now, so it's not update-based as far as I can tell. I just did a full uninstall/reinstall, no help. Any ideas?

I've been experiencing a similar issue where I get the "Server Connection Error" message in the top right corner. It lasts 2 - 3 seconds, then appears to reload my HUD. So far I haven't noticed a pattern. It happens randomly.

Yeah, I definitely thinks it's client side. I just don't know whether it's my computer, my connection, or steam.

Any other problems with any other games? Are you wired into your router or connecting wirelessly? How do you get into the interwebs, cable, modem, DSL, Wireless brodband, etc?

From experience, this problem is commonly caused by the router, ESPECIALLY if you are connecting wirelessly. I would try to reset the router or, better yet, update the router THEN reset it.

I have a 5 and a fps of 300 and i still get lag on eGO servers

No problems with any other games, and I'm actually plugged in to the router, which are all contributing to how confused I am on this. TF2 is the ONLY game that I notice lag on.

There's been some info on the HLDS mailing list where server operators are complaining of lag/crash issues with the new patch, so that might be related.

It's been doing this for a few months though, long before the new patch.

I assume you know the difference between lag and low fps? In other words, do you lag in other online games?

I do indeed know the difference. I don't lag in other games, and it seems like if it was an FPS problem, it wouldn't occur every minute, and only every minute.

Lol well I've done enough troubleshooting/repairs and what seems and what is rarely meets up

Happens to me. And I saw one match where half the team was locked up and then were disconnected. I also see more players freezing at the worst moments and get taken down.

I get these sometimes except they last up to 2 mins, I find that restarting the game helps or checking your network connection.

I'm discovering that restarting Steam fixes them, but every time I quit or minimize tf2, they come back until I restart Steam again.
