I am seeing a lot of posts on how we need to get more recruits into the FPS:X division, especially for Insurgency. So how about we come up with ideas on how to snag recruits while we are in game and even for the people in the other =(eGO)= divisions?
For the other divisons, lets start talking about filling up the servers (which so far isnt really hard) to just get Insurgency since its FREE. It's the main reason why I got it.
For the possible recurits in game, what has worked best in the past when I was in other Clans/Units was to find someone on the server that is a regular, as in they are in there about 2-3 days in a row, and talk to them. Say, hey m8, are you interested in joining a gaming clan? If they say no, just say, "Ok cool. Well we are here and are very interested in you to join up. Here is the website, so come and take a look at what we are all about."
If they say yes, then great! Give them the vent info so that you can walk them through the process. Give them DIRECT LINKS to the specific forum that they need. From there, is it over? No, make sure that you stick with them untill they are fully accepted and are wearing their =(e)= tags!
Binding your recruitment slogans in game are also a great way to bring people that are interested in joining a group. Its how I find clans to join. An example of this would be:
"EdgeGamers is recruiting! If you want to join a great community, ask me and I will help you on your application process!"
This has worked exceptionally well in all of my clans/units that I have been in. From my Jedi Outcast/Call of Duty division back in '02-'05 to the WoW guilds and the [1st MRB] of DoD:S. When I was the 2nd in command of my CoD Clan, I was able to recruit 100 people in the time that I was in. And the short time that I was in the [1st MRB], I was regularly recruiting 10 people per month.
