Skyrim Gameplay

Guess when my B-day is?

Heres a Hint:
Skyrim's release date :)

That's almost as awesome as Star Wars coming out on mine.

And in regards to the 300+hours for Skyrim, if you [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9hJMxw126A&feature=player_detailpage#t=254s]watch this video[/ame] you'll clearly hear how it the game has over 300 hours of playability and over 150 dungeons.

You just made my day (and 20111111 for me as well). Thank you jedi.

Though, let me mention that dungeons locking at the level you first explore them at is going to kill this game for me until that's addressed (praying for another OOO and MMM type deal)- I don't like having the ability to return somewhere removed from me (returning to a sweet dungeon after the main quest is done only to find it locked at level 1 enemies? lame).

few things about that preview that made me just drool
dual wielding swords
3rd person roaming
just the epic dual hand mechanic, where having both hands on one magic will make it more powerful and such. this is aweeeesome
dragons of course. big big boss fights is what im about in RPGs and MMORPGs and this game is going to have them in spades

I found the gameplay demo G4 was showing during their coverage.

http://www.g4tv.com/videos/53441/The-Elder-Scrolls-V-Skyrim-E3-Gameplay-Demo/

It's nearly double the length and shows some more stuff about leveling, your abilities, perks, magic, the interface, and probably a few more things. What I really liked is when he was talking about leveling and how you define your character as you play with perks and guardian stones, not in the very beginning, which is what I didn't like about Oblivion.

Why does this still make me think that Bethesda is trolling us and is still using the Gamebyro Engine, but they're putting Dragons instead of Dinosaurs in the game just to confuse us from this assumption?

Oh, and the game looks alright.

incredible. too bad i'll only have a little over a year to play this game before the end of the world

but ya...die happy?

hahaha

http://www.gamersmint.com/bethesda-...m-for-skyrim-aim-to-make-it-really-accessible

The lead producer on Skyrim said: “We use the consoles as our lead SKU… So we develop towards the consoles and then porting to PC is usually not too bad actually .”

omg..

play and it was easy; the average person could get into it…We knew we wanted to make the user interface a little bit more open and available … get away from the stats and things like that

I'm going to go cry now :(

I'm going to go cry now :(

This sums up my sentiments exactly

"I feel a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror, and were suddenly silenced."

Not promoting it, but after that announcement, I'm sensing a LOT of pissed off PC gamers now who are going to try and illegally downloading. Honestly, I can't blame them; if Bethesda wants to screw us over, PC gamers will respond in kind.

They could have not just announced that. I don't see the point in announcing it, it's just a giant middle finger. No one would have known till after everyone buys it. Just lost a lot of their sales. Never seen a company publicly declare their game a console port.

Wonder what this game could have been if not restricted by consoles. This game is a hardcore rpg, shouldn't appeal to the average gamer. The stats is what made it good, this interface is going to be a pain. Can already see the consoleization from morrowind->oblivion. sigh.

The worst part about it is the use of "usually" and "actually" it just feels like even they aren't confident in it. "and then porting to PC is usually not too bad actually .”

Ehh i don't care, as long as they do it right. It wont be as bad as crysis 2. I'd wait til it actually comes out to make judgement calls.

uhh its a little disappointing to hear that...but we'll see how it turns out in the long run.
at worst now i just won't preorder and get this game ASAP...i'll wait to hear what is said about it first.
honestly i'll most likely still buy/play this game, but that does take some air out of my balloons

It really depends on how much time they plan to put into the PC version. Which is why Mafia 2, Crysis 2 and Black Ops felt like complete garbage with terrible mouse input. Even Portal 2 felt awkward at first (it's not a console port, but it still feels weird for being the Source engine) Saying the gameplay is completely redesigned makes me nervous.

Weren't the last two Fallout's ported from console anyways?

I don't understand it because Bethesda is a huge company with plenty of dedicated PC programmers/gamers.

I've been reading around on various Skyrim forums and people are saying that both Fallouts and Oblivion were ports, so that makes me feel a little bit better. I just think it's kind of strange for a dev to go out and just tell everyone that the PC version is going to be a port.

They want us to think "WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF" and than when the game comes out.... We be like "OMG THIS IS ACTUALLY AWESOME"

I love the dragons in Skyrim. You walk on a road somewhere and then "omg theres a dragon flying there". I read also that you could enter a cave and then there could be a dragon sleeping. I hope that is true becuse that would be awesome. The sabotage of the economy sounds cool too. Cant wait till this comes out.
