Tryndamere early game

Hes getting a Rework next patch, making him run like renekton with rage...Ill find the link it was on Reddit

You want crit chance runes, so youll have a super high crit chance at level 1. That way your doing a ton of dmg early game. Also, you want to lane with a tank or someone with CC

I figured out that Armorpen is just better on tryn for late game. His early game is bad enough that crit chance runes wont really work.
Why put new headlights on a broken car :P...

early game damage > a few armor pen points

Yes, but tryn is too squishy to do upfront damage early game most of the time. Untill he gets lvl 6 atleast. Armor pen helps in the late game when tryn is the best. Why build for early game when its terrible to begin with?

I have seen a few Tyrnds around my elo. They usually go top lane and rape hard, it's pretty scary >_>

Trynda is my main as well.

Gloves +2 Pots
Zeal(from gloves)
Greaves
Zeal
Infinite edge
Vamp
Phantom dancer(from zeal)
Bloodthirster(from vamp)
phantom dancer(from zeal)
Last item can be whatever you want. Atma/thornmail/black cleaver/banshee. Depends what you are facing. As for laning just be careful of where your enemies are so you don't get ganked early on. Focus on last hits and keep your stacks high. Never spin into your enemies unless they are running. Save it incase you need to run. Flash/Cleanse are his bread and butter. Always cleanse after your flash. Only use cleanse when it is life and death or to chase after someone that slowed you down.

Not really a fan of your build Tumblin. You can't maximize Trynd's damage like that.

Here is mine, long read but I think I make some strong points.

gloves/boots +2 or 3 health pots
Rush Merc Treads in heavy CC/personally do it always
OR Berserker Greaves
Rush BF to Infinity Edge. BF helps a ton with farming and sets you up to get gold fast to get a fast IE.
BF also helps you do good damage in team fight situations sometimes getting you those 1-2 kills that can boost tryndamere.

After infinity I get Starks, just because I like to have lifesteal, helps me take push mobs/living in team fights observe:
Some of you may be like, oh blah blah, blood thirster is better because of the damage it gives you (up to 60). I actually don't think so, look at what starks does:

+20% Attack Speed UNIQUE Aura: Gives nearby allied champions 20% Lifesteal, 20% Attack Speed, and 30 Health per 5 seconds regenerated. Reduces the Armor of nearby enemy champions by 20.

It helps your team, as well as gives you a boost in attack speed, and health regen BUT it also reduces armor, just as the AP item Abyssal Scepter does for AP characters reducing their magic resistance. Also, i've been saved numerous times because of the health regen after I've been ignited if I can't find a quick minion to hit.

After starks I go Phantom for obvious reasons

After going these 4 items people get really sketchy on what to buy. Some people buy another blood thirster, others another phantom dancer.

Think about it. Blood thirsters are great and all and so are phantom dancers, but there is no point to having 2 blood thirsters or phantom dancers.
I will get back to this point.

My fifth item personally is either black cleaver or last whisper. Mostly been going Black cleaver for the attack speed and extra damage. You truly maximize your attack damage like this in a sense that starks already decreases armor defense so you can penetrate armor more effectively with the black cleaver at a high attack speed shredding your enemies.

+55 Attack Damage +30% Attack Speed UNIQUE Passive: Physical attacks reduce your target's Armor by 15 for 5 seconds (maximum 3 stacks).

Look at the benefit of having Black Cleaver: reduce your target's Armor by 15 for 5 seconds (maximum 3 stacks) So, you already have starks, and you get 3 stacks with this means you have reduced your opponents armor by 35 points (if I did the math right, it's summer I don't really care). Some think it might not be significant but it truly is if you want to attack tanks (even though you shouldn't) or even some beefy characters such as xin, olaf, or jarvan.

My last item is actually a blood thirster, I just buy it for the extra life steal as well as to once again maximize my damage out put.

Just to let you know with this build you can solo baron in about 2 or 3 minutes with the black cleaver and without the blood thirster. Probably the same time with the blood thirster but without taking as much damage

Anyway: I previously stated that I dislike people getting 2 blood thirsters or phantom dancers. Personally, I don't care what you do but getting 2 blood thirsters and then dieing and having no attack damage and having to refarm again and taking it from teammates who really need it is a waste. It doesn't make you look bad, but it really does, if that kat who only has 100 creep kills 30 minutes in due to being ganked/whatever and you have 150+ and you take it from her, your hurting the team because she can't maximize her output on her gear which deters her ultimate which causes you to rage which loses you the game. Also, having 2 phantom dancers is just overkill on how much crit chance you really need, you should be at about 75 crit chance with infinity edge and phantom dancer. Also, remember when you get really low your hitting crits for 100% basically. Having 2 phantom dancers also has you lacking in damage, with my build I'm usually getting around 700-900 damage depending on who I am hitting and if I have gotten pots or not.

Trynd Guide

When you played trynd you don't get starks because you are a character for you. You and you only should matter.

Farm a lane for 30 minutes and then proceed to pwn faces.

This wasn't a "Trynd Guide" it was just how I do my personal build, so can you not refer to my build as a guide.

When you played trynd you don't get starks because you are a character for you. You and you only should matter.

That is a very poor opinion. Playing tryndamere does require you to take a lot of farm, but to say that "you only should" matter is incorrect. Last time I checked this was a team game, and sure tryndamere can get fed all he wants but if you don't have a good team he's worthless. Helping your team by getting assists, kills, or coordinating stuns on certain players will help you win, especially on a fed or unfed tryndamere. Getting starks is another aspect of helping the team achieve one goal, and that is to win. Also, pay attention to the post, the statistics starks gives shows more benefit to the player holding the item rather than to the team because of what the player builds around it.

I understand now what I have to do, and I already have a certain build that I use but thanks for sharing yours :)

This can be closed now or people can keep discussing, im okay with either.

My strategy for early game Tryn is like what Kek15 said. Get Brawler's Gloves and 2 Health Potions. Don't go for kills until you have your Ultimate. Build a Zeal First, then Beserker Greaves, Finish the Zeal into Phantom Dancer, then go for Infinity Edge. After that, I would suggest The Blood Thirster. Once you have those built you can build whatever you need.

This Thread is about Early Game Tryndamere. But I ended up rambling about a build for him. Lol

I heard that starting off with either Doran's Shield (if laning vs physical) or Null Magic Mantle +2 Pots (if vs magic) works best. Either way, you end up going for a Spirit Visage which lets you use bloodlust more often for more effect.

Yes but you should leave starks up to the support or AD/support. Trynd is an AD carry and you want him to have the most farm and the most expensive items. It's like saying Starks is good item to buy on Ashe or Caitlyn.

this may be more effective come his remake with the new way his bloodlusts will rack up.

also for those saying arpen runes and getting starks etc. i disagree, for tryndamere. the reason is you do not want to stack flat arpen on tryndamere IMO. everybody will eventually be getting some massive armor item against you, or a couple, and everybody already has 80-100 armor from the get go anyway.
stacking flat arpen (including runes masteries etc) the max arpen you can have is 116. 146 if you use sword of the divine. AND in order to get this you need to have arpen marks/quints + 3 item slots (starks, youmuus, black cleaver). now you only have 1 more item open for you, since you will have boots and IE. this is not exactly ideal for tryndamere IMO.

you want last whisper. keep those crit chance runes, or defensive runes w/e you want to run, that frees those up. build up your damage and a little attack speed + last whisper.
im not sure about SR, i don't really play tryndamere much on SR anymore but when i play on TT (trynd is god on TT) i personally like to rush executioners calling. great early/mid game item of crit/lifesteal and will let you hit the jungle without losing a lick of your life. then i'll grab a recurve bow/boots and start working on IE.
the reason why i put my damage on hold at first is because you have such a massive damage bonus in bloodlust, you can afford to place it on hold a little bit longer than anybody else.

now you start working on your IE starting with bf sword obviously. afterwards you go straight into last whisper, you'll need it by then. now you can keep working on your damage with bloodthirster. from here you sell your exe calling and get another bf sword working it to another bloodthirster eventually.
you can also upgrade your recurve bow to a wits end or SOTD whenever you want.
wits end is an awesome item either way. gives you mr and basically +42 damage on every strike, but it doesn't give you more attack speed, so SOTD is decent too, but you probably won't use the active.
on SR instead of getting exe calling i'd probably get a wriggles, since it is that amazing. either way you need that lifesteal.

few points about my build. final build looking like boots (zerker or swiftness), IE, LW, BT, BT, SOTD i'll say....why no phantom dancer?? First off it does not give you any damage. tryndamere is about hitting hard, not hitting fast. you already have a good attack speed item in SOTD or wits end, and you do not need more attack speed than that. you do not need 100% base critical in the least. 50% base crit chance is more than enough and its some what of a wasted stat IMO getting anything over it. you can get 50% with just runes, your +10% at lvl 1 and IE. your passive will take care of the rest.
also you do not need to crit every single time because you will be hitting like a truck regardless.
last whisper is a must. you will be hitting so hard (and still plenty fast) people will be stacking massive armor to 'counter' you. last whisper is an absolute must.
damage and lifesteal. you have all the crit you need in IE/runes/masteries/passive etc. you have all the attack speed you need in boots/masteries/recurve bow. you want damage and lots of it, and lifesteal will always help tryndamere especially when you spin to that jungle camp with ignite on you just before your ult runs out. yes you can easily lifesteal through it and live.

couple points about tryndamere. your early game is only bad if you're up against a duo lane. try to get a solo you'll manage much better (or jungle).
once you stack your bloodlust stacks and have +40 damage, be aggressive and hit them a couple of times (hopefully crit too). you'll do more damage than they can any day! If they get low enough feel free to take the kill and be fed.
a death for a kill is necessary on tryndamere. be aggressive and get that kill even if it means you die. the gold is put to much more dangerous use on you than it is on them.
you do not need to stack attack speed. most of the time the enemy team will not let you stand there auto attacking 2.5x per second anyway, so make the hits you get in count with high damage and arpen instead of low damaging crits because you want to stack PDs and run fast.
