Stuck at 60 FPS

Does anyone know how to remove the 60 FPS cap in BC2? I am running two GTX 570's in SLI mode (V-sync is off) and it just stays at 60 FPS. I have tested my system in 3dMark11 and it runs SLI just fine but BC2 only will render 60 FPS. I have read about this happening to other people but nobody seems to know the solution.:facewall: I ran Dirt3 at the highest settings and at 1920 x1080 resolution and these are my results so i can isolate the cards as being the problem:

Check in Nvidia control panel and make sure that under manage 3d settings > program settings > bc2 that vsync isnt put to force on, and if it is turn it to force off or app controlled.

Do you know the refresh rate of your monitor? also your system makes me drool. I am your biggest fan lmao.

If V-Sync is enabled then your fps will be synced to your monitors refresh rate which is like 60hz

Yeah I see that, but V-Sync is the only thing that would lock it at 60fps also even if a game reports an fps of 200+ it is irrelevant so long as your screen only supports 60 then that is all that "really" shows anyways so it's no big deal either way.

Isn't 60 fps the most the human eye can even comprehend unaided.

Also no matter what the game may say "typical LCD monitors of today are locked at 60 FPS, making extremely high frame rates impossible to see in realtime" So it could be running faster but you only see 60 fps at any given time.

60 FPS is the defacto standard, BUT a lot of people report that a 120hz monitor plays a lot better than regular 60hz ones. Keep that in mind.

Also, the higher the frame rate, the better the response you get from the game. If it's locked at 60 FPS, the computer will limit the frame output, thus limiting the performance potential of the computer. If the computer can put out more than 60 FPS, the response will be quicker as the frames will update more frequently on the computers end.

Just keep that in mind. Frame rates greater than 60 FPS can be beneficial for gameplay. That's the reason why a lot of hardcore CS:S players like stratospheric frame rates.

My monitor is 60hz so it would make sense if the V-sync was enabled but it isn't that is why it is driving me crazy. I think my next step is too uninstall and re-install BC2. I added the extra card and turned on the SLI software after the game had been previously installed. I will let you guys know if that works.

Update: Reinstalling did not help, V-Sync is still off and BC2 stays at 60fps.

You can go into game settings at raise refresh rate from 60 to whatever you want, I have mine on 75.

I think that BFC2 is limited to 60 fps because of the console limitation. I don't know how to remove the cap and do not think it is possible.

Nope that's not it, I run at 120 fps on average. And if disabling the Vsync doesn't work, could try changing other settings around, see if that fixes the problem

True and I run mine at 80 fps and it does great I also set my setting properties to Read-only so it doesn't flip back.

Add two more monitors and stretch it to 5900 X 1200 resolution. That will max out your system at less than 60FPS...voila! problem solved. System maxed and FPS maximized :-)

Do you have profiles set up in the Nvidia control panel that overrides the game settings and forces V-Sync?
