Many of you probably have done somehting in your lifethat you thought was funny and everyone else thought was immature. Now this thread is about discussing this kind of thing and where the line lies (in general). I hoping to see some similarities in people's responses.

This is about anything not just games.

I'll post my personal opinion later when I have the time

Making fun of my friends to a point where they didn't find it funny anymore and left me tied up in my basement.

This just about sums me up...

Why were you tied up in your basement.

Because I made mean jokes that they didn't really find funny, so I got tied up with some bed sheets and wires. Was a long time ago when I was a kid, but I learned a valuable lesson from it.

There is no distinct line in my opinion. Which is another part of it, the whole concept is opinion based. So I'm trying to find the average viewpoint and hopefully try to stay on the "fun but still 'mature' " side of things.

I ride that line everyday. I have made my whole social career off of running along that line.

Pros: making people laugh at things they wouldn't normally laugh at, thus feeling good for the moment.

Cons: Having dinner with my Dad, Step-Mom, her son and his new wife and causing everyone to become uncomfortable and leave the table. (I was actually proud of that one)

Having this ability has not only caused a lot of joy in my life, but it has also caused joy.

I doubt they'd call me immature. Weird, perhaps.

I mean, everybody likes physics jokes, right? Right...?

I'm an internet troll and a RL troll.

Really though, people need to gain a sense of humor, life is no fun when you don't laugh at anything.

The line is crossed when the fun you are having or the jokes you are telling come at the expense of another person.

Respect is the real key. You can say things and poke some fun at people and still respect them.

When you don't have that respect though you say too much or go too far with it. That's not a good thing to do and I don't recommend it.

That is a great answer.

+1

If its at the expense of someone else, It can easily cross the line. If you do something just to "Get an emotional response" for your own pleasure, again it can easily cross the line. When someone says "people need to learn how to laugh" then like someone else put (It's relative) and not everyone finds what you think is funny.

I did a lot of joking when I was younger, and most of it was immature. Hell, sometimes I still cross the line every now and then, but quickly acknowledged it and apologies.

Just because your having a kick out of it, and it's funny to you and possibly someone else, doesn't always make it acceptable.

I can point out numerous people that cross the line quite a bit, but that's not why we are here. ;)
